The Second Vermont Republic's Rob Williams Has Another Reason to Hate Lincoln - The Jews
I first learned of the Second Vermont Republic'sRob Williams when I heard him prattle on about the Lincoln historical revisionism of a neo-Confederate by the name of Thomas DiLorenzo on a local radio program back in 2007. Williams, an adjunct staff member at Burlington's Champlain College, was challenged for presenting "academic nonsense" on the program, and nonsense it was. Rob is a longtime sufferer of Lincoln derangement syndrome.
Lincoln Derangement Syndrome (n):"A deeply-embedded psychosis held by some Lost Causers and defenders of Southern Heritage™, indicated by the reflexive, knee-jerk response to any criticism of the Confederacy, by pointing out that (1) Abraham Lincoln held personal views about African Americans that were racist, (2) the Emancipation Proclamation didn’t free any slaves, or (3) that Lincoln’s public policy position toward the institution of slavery changed over time. There is no known cure."
But now Williams has a new reason for his hatred; Lincoln's relationship with Jews. Followers of this blog know that I have exposed repeated instances of anti-Semitic posts at Williams' SVR hateblog by his stable of anti-Semitic hatebloggers Carol Moore, Dennis "Hit List" Morrisseau and Jacqueline Brook, to name only a few (and, no, I don't link to his hatesite any longer).
In a post this past week at the Lincoln Institute we learn:
The New-York Historical Society’s newest exhibit, “Lincoln and the Jews,” is an exploration of Lincoln’s personal relationships with his Jewish contemporaries and his impact on nineteenth-century Jewish life in America. The New York Times covered the exhibit in a recent article:

Sarna, a historian at Brandeis University and the author, with Mr. Shapell, of the new, separately published book “Lincoln and the Jews,” which inspired the show. “It’s a subject that has really been overlooked.”

Second Vermont Republic honcho and the self-described "Very Foreign Minister" of the secessionist movement, Dennis Morrisseau, has been keeping a very low profile for months. Yesterday he popped up at the Vermont State House to protest the General Assembly even having a hearing on proposed gun control legislation. Morrisseau went so far as to threaten the removal from office of any legislator who dared to support such legislation.
"Anyone voting ‘yes’ for that bill, according to opponents, will pay for it with their political lives. On the Statehouse lawn, an orange, 10-foot-tall sign greeted people arriving at the hearing Tuesday with a message: “We will vote you all out.”
“And it means everybody – all of you,” Dennis Morrisseau said, waiting in line outside the House chamber before the hearing. “These bills need to disappear.” Source
You see, in Morrisseau's world of crazy the only thing that counts is his point of view - no discussion.
This isn't Morrisseau's first or even second time to the "vote'em all out" rodeo. In 2009, 2010 and 2012 he secretly conspired with secesher candidates to replace all of Vermont's senators. He called his plan "The 30." He never recruited more than a half dozen half-hearted candidates. He's also repeatedly claimed to have a plan to "Fire Congress." He's failed at that too. You can read some of his crazy about all of that here. Morrisseau has proposed capping the number of children that brown people can have in Vermont to two; he's given free one way (out of town) tickets to Burlington homeless people in the 1980's; he proposes capping income and assets in Vermont; he proposes replacing teachers with older students.

But what should be a concern to legislators and the security staff at the Vermont State House is Morriisseau's history of advocating for "hit lists" of people he hates. I wrote at length about that here. Here's just a small sample of what Denny had to say then:
"I have suggested here and elsewhere that we should begin to post the perps’ names and physical addresse on a permanent electronic board somewhere, so that nature can begin taking it’s course. [On the thoery(sic) that a few such take downs would have some chance of stopping what is coming if we do not act.]"
"I include “international financiers” and certain Likudniks and media moguls on my personal list."
To me, a nationwide assault on the entire sitting Congress en masse, and known to all, pitched to all as the only possible peaceful revolutiong(sic), does have a shot if presented right that might allow us to regain the power of we the people. Morrisseau has been wildly unsuccessful in all of his various elective runs during the past four decades and was 100% unsuccessful in replacing any of the members of Vermont's Senate in 2010 and 2012, his candidates finishing in the single or less percentile but he has been a threatening presence and State House security would be wise to take note of his visit.

With those words, two time loser for an Addison county Vermont state senate seat, closed his 2012 campaign, seemingly promising to rise again from its ashes to wage another fruitless campaign. He even immediately renamed his Facebook page, "Robert Wagner for Vermont Senate 2014" where on March 13, 2013 he wrote,
Well, maybe not so much. That was the last thing he's posted on the matter. More than a year later, June's 2014 filing date for independent Senate candidates came and went with no petition submitted by Wagner. Even his "Senator Wagner" website has gone dark.
Likewise, Wagner's self-described "friend," the proudly misogynist and the inveterate anti-Semite at Rob Williams' hate blog, Dennis "Hit List" Morrisseau, also failed to register for an independent run for a Rutland county Vermont Senate seat but he still has a 2014 campaign website. Go figure.
Morrisseau was the architect of plan to replace each and every one of Vermont's senate incumbents with secesher Kool-Aid drinkers. I guess that's now on hold too.
In a fashion similar to Wagner's, Vermont's 2010 secesher gubernatorial candidate Dennis Steele, while acknowledging that more than 99% of Vermonters voted for someone else, pledged,
And since then no one has heard shit from Dennis Steele. According to one published report, it indicates that he's presently engaged in peddling an addictive and possibly carcinogenic substance in the NEK. So much for "serv(ing)... neighbors" and reducing "dependence," eh?
After their miserable showing in 2010, the seceshers declared their "independence" and established a provisional capital in the sparsely populated central Vermont town of Hancock. Most of the VT secesher movement's luminaries attended the convening session of their, uh, congress - their hate blog publisher, Rob; Gary "The Rocket Scientist and Public Bankster" Flomenhoft; Matt "Never Won An Election Yet" Cropp; you know, the usual suspects.
A promised run by a Fairfax, VT secesher insider has also failed to materialize. Secesher outliers like "Terry" Jeroloman, Gus Jaccaci, James Merriman and Gaelan "Aliens-NASA Conspiracy on the Dark Side of the Moon" Brown are again sitting this election cycle out.
The fact is that the only secession supporters left running are kooks like Ben Eastwood, Emily Peyton and Peter Diamondstone (who raised secession in a debate with Bernie Sanders in 2012), and there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that any one of them will eke out more than a low single or fractional digit electoral result.
It's beginning to look more and more like Thomas Naylor's dream of an independent white homeland called the Second Vermont Republic or Novacadia or some such nonsense, is nearly as dead as he is.
Vermont Secessionist Blogger Carol Moore's "Jew Counting," "Jew Washing" and "Jew Lubing"

There was a definite uptick in searches for Carol Moore posts on this blog starting late last year which continued into the spring. This often happens in conjunction with one of her recurring episodes of conflict of interest editing, edit warring, inappropriately combative behavior that factlessly questions the character of other editors, coatracking or scrubbing articles of RS that put her allies, like the racist admirer of Hitler's Third Reich, Murray Rothbard or the Holocaust denier, Gilad Atzmon, in an accurate, if unflattering, light.
Carol Moore, an anti-Semitic, meshuga blogger who promotes segregation, or as she likes to call them, "homogeneous communities," as a valid alternative to integrated communities (her original blog post has been purged from the last iteration of the Vermont secessionist hate blog, then called VT Commons, but reference to her post is archived here) and who has recently begun to dabble in rather feckless transphobic rhetoric, has gotten her fat ass in a sling once again at Wikipedia where she contorts the truth in a variety of articles. Moore has long been known there as a coatracking specialist who's displayed a distinct inability to play well with others. As mentioned above, she also has a history as a longtime, toxic contributor to Rob Williams' now defunct hate blog called VTCommons where she spewed her anti-Semitic rhetoric along with another Jew loathing blogger, Dennis "Hit List" Morrisseau (I really recommend reading the link for "Hit List" for a taste of how demented these "Jew counters" can be that were being promoted then by Williams, who himself has "issues" with Jews.)
Moore's other anti-Semitic activities include the racist act of "Jew counting," a common practice at hate sites like Stormfront.org:

Moore furthers her nefarious endeavors by "Jew washing" her resulting work, using notorious Jewish Holocaust deniers and anti-Semites like Jeff Blankfort and Gilad Atzmon (who has also promoted the idea of synagogue burning) as cover for her Jew hatred. You can read more about Carol's friends and "sources", Jeff ("I do not believe there was any official Nazi plan to exterminate the Jews because, had there been, there would not have been close to a million left alive") Blankfort and Gilad ("the Jews were responsible for the killing of Jesus") Atzmon, and their anti-Semitic activities here. Perhaps when Moore is using scum like Blankfort and Atzmon to "Jew wash" her "Jew counting" for insertion into forum discussions or WP articles we should be calling them her, to coin a phrase, "Jew lube." I really hadn't thought she could publicly sink so low as to what one would normally expect to see going on at some neo-Nazi website but I'm by no means surprised by her worsening racism. Her various hatreds - transgendered people, men, political opponents, Jews, integration, etc. - takes so many forms.
In one fact starved stream of accusations, Moore showed how "non-violent" she really is in this display of misandrist, threatening invective meant to convey how deep her ideation on castration fantasies are when it comes to men and male animals from more than six years ago:
"Of course, any female - and most men - can guess what my real response to it was. (Hint, where's the rubber bands - or the anesthetic and the proper tools.)"
Fortunately, real feminists eschew this sort of crap that marginalizes women into a stereotype that misogynists love to employ. What a dope! It was just this sort of statement about an accomplished, male WP editor that led to another of her kerfuffles with the powers that be at WP. She said then that the editor was getting his rocks off because he'd edited WP articles on human sexuality; he quit editing rather than deal with her insanity. She herself later went on to edit sexuality articles, so should we assume she was doing so to get off since she's lived alone for many, many years and has even posted on her hate blog entreaties to some self-loathing man who would like her to cook for him? She did have a dog once but rumor has it that it took its own life out of desperation from having to live in a rundown duplex with sheets hung over the windows (can't be too careful about the NSA).
Similarly, she recently posted at her hate blog this threatening blather directed at transgendered people:
"* Tough to be a woman - say the transgender males to females who fully have transitioned.
"I didn't know how much more respect I got as a male! No one listens to me. They blame me for things they (sic) guys screw up. It's unbelievable!!"
Again, using her standard for posting on such matters, why is she so nuts about nuts? Truly, Moore, the self professed Gandhi devotee, is one violence obsessed mothereffer and all of her targets seem to be men.
Moore has been repeatedly blocked from editing by Wikipedia administrators due to her maligning the character of fellow editors, a major WP no-no. Moore operates at WP like a demented jailhouse lawyer but her latest skirting of the rules after being banned for a year from editing the WP article on Austrian economics, a.k.a. Austerian economics, earned her a two week block from editing any WP article, and, believe me, you have to try really, really hard to get WP wusses to do much of anything about the anti-Semites, racists, homophobes and haters like Moore who prowl their articles to insert poisonous untruths.
I'm reposting immediately below a February 7, 2011 post that'll give you a pretty good sense of the depth of Moore's hatred for the Jews. Since there's always a decided rise in the number of readers here looking for that post when Moore goes on the attack, as there was this past winter during the WP Arbitration Investigation, I thought now might be a good time to move it back to the top of the blog:
One thing about a neo-Nazi post like last week's is that you do get email as a result.
One of the email subjects had to do with a certain veteran blogger for"Vermont Commons" (Full Disclosure: she's also a longtime, virulent critic of this blog.), Carol Moore.
My own investigation has come up with a truly putrid example of the sort of anti-Semitism that paddles along with so much of the fringe movement known as secessionism, as well as the sovereign citizen movement, in America. [1][2] That's not to say that because one is intrigued with what secession might mean to accomplish, it then follows that they're an anti-Semite. It's just something that as you wade through what's being written by seceshers you'll find anti-Semitism pops up as one of the rationales for why they're failing, over and over again. For instance, Thomas Naylor, baas of the Second Vermont Republic, rants about the Israeli Mafia or he suggests the possibility that this or other blogs might be agents of, or in cahoots with, the Mossad.
Here's what one VTCommons blogger, Carol Moore, a sputtering dingbat if ever there was one, has written in the past at a Yahoo group messageboard:

I've only highlighted a few of the vile, anti-Semitic and racist tropes used in Moore's tirade. A more detailed inventory of Moore's anti-Semitic image management can be found here: one example is her characterization (cover) for a Holocaust denier by suggesting that "questions remain" and the Holocaust is "has been exploited shamelessly for political gain" - Ahmadinejad couldn't have said it better. So crazed is Moore's desire for importance and relevance that she outs her perceived "obsession" with Jews at the libs4peace messageboard members here.
Moore's an example of the new anti-Semitism so prevalent in today's fringe groups or on Fox News, which equates Israel with Nazi Germany using "trivializing comparisons" such as (Lebensraum), thus suggesting that Israel is a vastly expanding fascist, neo-Nazi state whose armies of millions are on the move; reiterates the old anti-Semitic myth that Jews control the media and the US government (also called ZOG).
Moore's hateful harangue is as utterly shameful as her assertion that she is being oppressed by Israel is ludicrous.
One need look no further for evidence of Moore's ongoing war against the Jews than her 400-500 edits in the Wikipedia article, Allegations of Jewish Control of the Media . This anti-Semitic activism caused a firestorm on the Wikipedia Noticeboards last month that has yet to abate. Here's one example, as well as others from a month earlier here and here that also revolve around actions advancing the cause of anti-Semitism. There're many, many more complaints about her anti-Semitic agenda wreaking havoc on Wikipedia articles.
No less an expert on white supremacists, the Klan, anti-Semites and other wingnuts, Chip Berlet of Political Research Associates, has had this to say about Carol Moore and her whitewash of the Branch Davidian murderers and their serial child molester/murderer/cult leader, David Koresh:
"Ah yes, Carol Moore. She wrote one of the worst books on the Branch Davidian tragedy (and there were some real stinkers)."
You'd think that after four years (today's the 4th anniversary for this blog), VTCommons publisher, Rob Williams, would have figured out that as long as he keeps up these sorts of direct associations with racist, white supremacist or anti-Semitic extremists like Duncan, Griffin, Naylor and plain old whackjobs like Moore, as well as his recruiting promoters of loopy sovereign citizen movement legal arguments, his movement is going to remain stopped dead in its tracks as it is.
It's time for Williams to start taking out the trash at the VTCommons blog and in the Free Vermont movement, or is his allowance of anything goes in a Brave New Vermont a not so subtle warning being given to "undesirables" of the treatment they might anticipate when he and the other cowboys (and girls) take over? Certainly Williams' Don't Ask, Don't Care policy isn't going to do (or will it Rob?):

Or maybe it'd be simpler if Williams would just accepted the obvious; that the vast majority Vermonters (by last count 99.21%) aren't interested in what his "small community of secessionists" is offering (Actually, 1.21% is the average of spoilt ballots over the past 22 years, so maybe no one really intended to vote for the secesher candidate in the first place).
Update 12:00 PM: Carol Moore's complained of the use of the photo. She isn't very photogenic so I get her point. The parody involved, that of a bigoted fraud who purports to be an advocate for peace and whose hateful t-shirt belies that role, apparently escaped her, but for the sake of comity I've removed the photo and replaced it with an explanatory message. In the future, the parodic use will be clear and unmistakeable, even to her.
Interestingly, Moore did not refudiate any of the above text or the thoughts and views expressed by her in any of messages sent by her this morning. She does, however, appear to be fascinated with googling herself. I hope she's not as confused about that as Marge Simpson was. Moore attached a link that she said comes up first (it doesn't) when she gives herself a googlejob. When I checked the link she provided, it discloses that her "research" relies on the likes of world class nutjob, Jerome Corsi.
Update 2.8.11, 4:00 PM: Carol Moore has written at the VTCommons blog that "The fact he gets no comments attests to the fact he doubtless has few readers, except maybe his employers, who aren't getting their moneys worth." Where to start on that little boatload of crazy?

All the comments received have been from the very "small community" of secesher supporters and their out-of-state allies. Something about staying on topic escapes them, and I have no intention of providing therapy for what's ailing them - they were not approved for publication. In Moore's case the truth is that in addition to being an anti-Semite, she's a liar; she submitted seven nutty comments.

A Secessionist Neo-Nazi Calls Rob Williams Hate Site a Place of "Friends and Fellow Secessionists"
While doing some research connected to the topic in the previous post, "Secession Alliances and Cross Pollination," I came across one of the connections that shows how close those ties can be in the minds of seceshers.
The website operated by a League of the South member with past ties to the largely defunct neo-Nazi group called the National Alliance (a group that has "produced assassins, bombers and bank robbers, among other things"; membership #C0127), Michael Cushman's Southern Nationalist Network, has a post by Cushman from a little over a year and a half ago where he writes,
"Our friends and fellow secessionists in Vermont have posted an excellent poem with which many Southern nationalists will surely identify. Below is one part that stands out as being particularly relevant in this age when US hegemony stretches far and wide and crushes all that is unique beneath its bland boot of universalism..."Source
Right. Unique like neo-Nazism. What follows in Cushman's post is an excerpt from a now dead link to the now out of commission secesher publication once published by - wait for it - Rob Williams. (For any newcomers to this blog, you can learn more about 9/11 Truther Williams' anti-Semitism and his cavalier attitude towards the racism of his secesher allies here and here.). The poem is such dreck that I can't bring myself post any of it, not even the excerpt, by a Kentucky secesher named Wendell Berry. Williams is so taken by Berry's lyric flotsam that it found its way into Wiiliams' anthology rehash of things once published in his bygone rag. What Williams didn't include was some of the racist writers and bloggers that have contributed to his hate site and wood stove paper kindling supply (that I missed so much this winter), like UVM's white supremacist prof, Robert S. Griffin[1][2], frothing anti-Semites like Thomas H. Naylor, Dennis "Hit List" Morrisseau, Carol "Jew Loather" Moore, or anti-race mixing contributor to Dennis Steele's utterly failed secesher gubernatorial candidacy, James Duncan. Rob Williams' Second Vermont Republic Hate Blogger Dennis Morrisseau Engages in a Little Old Fashioned Jew Baiting
Pawlet, VT's Dennis "Hit List" Morrisseau, a longtime friend to the still dead secessionist leader Thomas H. Naylor (you may remember him for his plot to create a white homeland in northern New England and the Canadian Maritime provinces, and for his alliances with southern white supremacists at the League of the South) and also a friend to the failed secesher Vermont Senate candidate from Ripton, VT, Robert "Needed Killin' " Wagner, who's issued a "news release" last weekend that reeks of blatant Jew-baiting.
Morrisseau's ALL CAPS riddled rant, which you'll find reprinted at the bottom of this post, singles out a Jew, who sits on no US Senate committee with a any pull in foreign affairs, for not having spoken out about, well, it's not entirely clear what Denny would have U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders speak out about given the incoherency of the "communique" from Denny's Morrisseau World Newsservice, which doesn't have a website but is, rather, an irregular email blast to a long list of people who never use his crap. Content of the emails depends more on Denny's then state of mind than on anything that would normally be considered news. Denny's always on the watch for Semitic contagion, particularly in governance. Here's the money quote for his latest unhinged missive:
"WHO is it really that is pushing this crap on Ukraine? WHO are the actual people behind all this? Do they have Jewish names by any chance? Do you know? Do you even know?"
That's the sort of list making "news commentary" one would associate with neo-Nazi websites like Stormfront.org or the deeply anti-Semitic Veterans Today where Denny likes to post some of his seething commentary. I give you Denny's entire email; don't forget to wash up when you're done.

A Look Back at Yet Another Year of Misses, Missteps and the Mistakes of Vermont's Foundering Secession Movement
Two years ago today the screwballs of the Vermont secessionist clowncar announced their opening salvo of a Takeover Vermont movement - they were "amassing" candidates to occupy the entire Senate of the Vermont Statehouse, step into the governor's and lieutenant governor's office, along with a fistful of House seats. History will note that none of their candidate's came even remotely close to anything more than a piddling showing in any race. Perhaps that was because two months before the 2012 election I'd exposed their super-secret listserv where they waxed poet about their love for antiSemitic, misogynistic, racist and homophobic tropes, as well as their contempt for Vermonters who they believed to be gullible. Fortunately, those same Vermonters didn't fall for the crap that the seceshers were passing out. So I thought that today might be a good day to look back at the year that followed the 2012 debacle, 2013.
Last year at this time Vermonters throughout the state were breathing a collective sigh of relief that the decade long attempt to establish a dictatorship of the seceshatariat and associated argle-bargle had come to an abrupt end with the passing of the Magnolia Vermonter, Thomas H. Naylor, who was by any reasonable estimate a racist and Jew hater. Gone too is his dream for a do-over on women's reproductive rights and marriage equality. My criminy, if only he'd lived long enough to troll Duck Dynasty rednecks who're into making duck sounds on dick-like instruments with other duck dudes while disparaging gays, blacks and other non-Christopsychos, who knows how much he might have seceded, er, succeeded into making this a world more appreciable of other neo-Confederate "scholars" like his longtime butt-buddy Kirkpatrick Sale. We can all remember when Second Vermont Republic co-founder Sale said of the state Israel that it could be "unmade." Nothing could speak to the delusions of these secesher clowns more than that kind of looney ideation about the end of the Jews once and for all... a final solution proposed by the very core of the leadership of the SVR.
In 2013 the hoopleheads at the hate website Vermont Commons still ground out misinformation and the latest anti-Semitic, conspiracist garbage but not at anywhere near the same rate as they had in the past. The promise to have a new print junk journal resuscitated for 2013 turned out to be more pure secesher bullshit. Rob Williams, who presides as the top mouth breather at the VTCommons hate blog, idiotsplains to everyone who doesn't see him coming but realizes that would have been a good idea once he gets into his wet-dream shtick about "the emerging Vermont independence movement" that they're going to prevail, that's despite getting no one elected and no legislator to announce support for their fantasy. Ain't. Ever. Gonna. Happen. Rob. And that's no matter how many bumper stickers (that people throw away once they get clued into the racism, anti-Semitism and other forms of hate that comes with it) and useless commentaries and Facebook posts that Rob, Matt Cropp, Juliet Buck and the other tiny group of bedwetters plaster onto the Internets. Vermonters won't forget Williams' role as the then vice chairman of Second Vermont Republic in bringing neo-Confederate racists and segregationists to our state to arouse a secesher dream of division and exclusion. The KKK inspired and slavery loving group that Williams thought so much of that he had them on the SVR advisory board was the infamous League of the South, a group he has yet to denounce although only a bit more than a year ago he claimed to have put an end to the criticism of his group for having sought to affiliate with racists. (How's that going, Rob?) Like the neo-Confederate wing of the hate based secesher movement, Williams' hate blog will no doubt keep chugging along promoting attacks on Israel, Jewish "international bankers", the Vermont legislature, rule of law, etc. in its usual ineffectual way.
Vermont secession theology, like most faith based ideologies and theologies, has a well developed eschatological component. The world as we know it is going down (peak oil, peak fracking, peak F-35s, you name it) and there's only one way to escape the horrors and that's through the secesher rapture (Now where have I heard that before?). Tie that with their confiscatory economic theories that promote the largest grab of private property since the Stalin era and you can get a sense of why their political campaigns have been so, like, totes failed.
VTCommons contributors were able to maintain their reputation as being invariably late to the media party, such as when Gaelan Brown, the renown VTC house derp, who wrote about the compost sales tax debacle six months after it had been covered much more responsibly and professionally by Vermont's print and electronic media. Brown failed to disclose his own bottom line interest in the composting industry in his piece for VTCommons', uh, journal hate blog, a huge journalistic no-no. Me wonders how his conspiracist exposé of the collusion between the U.S. military and space aliens over extraction mineral resources from the dark side of the Moon in exchange for advanced alien military technology is going - oh, and don't forget the hidden truth about aircraft contrails that Brown has the scoop on since that's bigger than the Snowden disclosures (except for the difference that Snowden's dealing with, like, facts and truth, and not the attenuated sort of truth churned out by Teh Secesher Crheyzies!).
2013 entertained no new secesher conventions such as the small nations thing that was to be funded by some bored prince that Naylor and the mini-Naylor, Rob Williams had been sucking up to, nor has any secesher made a meaningful announcement to run for office in 2014 - heck, for their 2012 run debacle they wouldn't shut up even when they had no right to speak, so why are they so silent now? No Jim Hogue "Ethan Allen" drag shows that I noticed. Not even a peep for months from the not-so "Senator" Robert "Needed Killin' " Wagner despite his still having an inactive 2014 campaign website of sorts. Speaking of never-gonna-be senators, I've been following the random, mostly just for nothing Denny "Hit List" Morrisseau comments which read more like deranged outbursts as he derps the net and should give'em a mention but I've misplaced my Morriseau-to-English dictionary and without that they still don't make sense. Suffice it to say that, aside from Naylor himself, Morrisseau, who describes himself as "The Very Foreign Minister of SVR but is more aptly the "impacted bowel" of SVR, is possibly the most staggeringly anti-Semitic passenger of the Vermont secesher crazy train. The death of Naylor, the longtime and apparently only Vermont secesher sugar daddy, spelled the end to the gravy train of show conventions and videos attended by tens of people (mostly out-of-staters and sometimes not even that many/few) over the years. One could even speculate that the unseemly association with a group and an e-"publication" that has long term ties to racists, homophobes and anti-Semites in its past and present "issues" led to the departure this summer of one sham radical from a frontline position in the leadership of the minuscule anti-Vermont National Guard group (or as they like to frame themselves, the anti-F-35 movement) or maybe she just got tired of holding the reins on stoopid.
Profoundly failed 2012 gubernatorial wannabe (99.24% of Vermonters all voted for someone else), Dennis Steele, managed to finally snag an interview in 2013 where he mentioned America but not a secesher Vermont while promoting an addictive product that the CDC has been found to contain substances harmful to humans, including carcinogens. Steele even asserts, without presenting any evidence whatsoever that,
"there are a growing number of people who are moving from cigarettes to electronic cigarettes..."
But as the American Cancer Society has noted,
"(while) e-cigarettes have not been shown to be effective tobacco cessation tools and are not FDA approved, some distributors are marketing them for smoking cessation."
Nice going with the new craptacular project, Dennis. Given that New Hampshire has banned them and that New York is well on its way to doing so and that Vermont isn't likely to continue to allow them, you've certainly seemed to have latched onto another big loser. Perhaps you'd have saved something of what's left of your reputation if you'd just taken some more money from out-of-state racists, misogynists and homophobes and had not climbed aboard the poisonous gravytrain of Big Nicotine.

Similarly, in 2012 when the secesher brain trust was bursting onto the senator/guv campaign scene they connived on their super-secret campaign listserv where they waxed fondly about their similar feelings about world Jewry. There they'd been charmed by their largest out-of-state contributor who happened to be a regular then at the neo-Nazi Stormfront.org website. Williams had cautioned the head of the ticket, Dennis Steele, about sounding as whacked out on the topic as their VTfuhrer, Thomas Naylor, but with little success.
Sadly, VTCommons house anti-Semite, grande dame Carol "Shit-fer-brains" Moore has drifted from her once primary role as the ardent, incessant Jew hater and segregation proponent at VTCommons and at her blog into merely lamenting her Medicare eligible physical form (target weight: 180 lbs!) that's rendered, according to her, her slinky black leotards a mere figment of her imagined past. Maybe in this moment of self revelation she'll finally come clean about the tale that she tells about "choosing" to live in a minority neighborhood because she's, you know, so-o-o committed to whatever the fuck it is that she's up to at the moment - it's really just a marginal area investment property duplex owned by a Maryland Libertarian Party cohort of hers who no likely feels sorry for her tired ass. Oh, and did she ever find a taker for her role as cook for whatever loser would be willing to hump her ass and play the docile, self loathing male that she advertised for on her blog a year or so ago? This past year also gave us the duplicitous spectacle of VTCommons hate blog publisher Rob Williams showing his contempt for the public by crowd sourcing the promotion of a mobile Yak BBQ food cart without ever telling the potential suckers that he'd put his yak herd/ranch on the market four or so months earlier. Didn't he think that sort of disclosure, as in like transparency, was necessary for the marks to really make an informed investment decision, huh? Must be making Champlain College proud of Perfesser Williams, no? That's just the sort of sleazy practice that makes it harder for legitimate kickstarters but, hey, WTF? The kids gotta learn. Heh... And as if to show how unconcerned he is about having provided a hate platform for years at VTCommons, from one of its very earliest issues for the likes of UVM's white supremacist professor Robert S. Griffin, convicted felon & racist LoS Board of Directors member Franklin Sanders to today's stable of anti-Semites, Williams proudly points to his role as publisher of the hate blog on his Champlain College bio. Don't go looking for Griffin's white supremacist essay from VTC issue #2 or Rob's own cheerleader-like hummer for Lincoln hater, white supremacist and LewRockwell.com nutter Thomas DiLorenzo in VTC issue #3 since they've been scrubbed. More intellectual transparency from Champlain College's own inhouse anti-Semite, Herr Doktor Rob Williams.
Looks like the Vermont seceshers won't be crowing, "We winned!" any year soon. Rumor has it that they may be lowering the 2014 "achievement" bar to adopt steal a salute (just like they tried to steal the Vermont National Guard's Green Mountain Boys flag) from the French anti-Semitic, Holocaust denying comedienne Dieudonné called "La Quenelle", "a gesture which involves touching the right upper arm with the left hand whilst keeping the right arm pointed downwards," also called the "reverse Nazi salute." I can almost see the 2014 secesher alumni photo being taken in front of the Vermont Statehouse - not quite enough people to make up a full calendar but with the entire group saluting in a manner that points to the ground in both a symbolic gesture acknowledging the passing of the baas, the Dixie singin' Thomas Naylor, and the death of their movement. I'm sure that the French bigot Dieudonné won't mind and might even welcome the appropriation from a companion anti-Semitic organization. Then the tiny group could do a statewide tour of synagogue's and take selfies of their doing the salute in front of such places - it's all the rage among anti-Semites these days.
The Second Vermont Republic: Vermont's own Y2K but with even less impact. 2014 should prove to be even less impressive as Williams (sans Naylor) continues to shake his fist impotently at Vermonters, the state legislators, statewide office holders, the congressional delegation and passing cars. Rumor also has it that Rob "The Champlain College Media Internets Expert" Williams has been doing a makeover/re-boot of his hate blog at VTCommons; it's pretty much the same ol'turgid, conspiratard nonsense (like the Boston bombing was a "false flag" operation) and anti-Semitism that the site is noted for with some of Naylor's vintage, sage/suckest mind farts cut and pasted on because there's nothing like re-worked failure to keep a website on life support. No doubt that the teevees rollout of the fifth season of Duck Dynasty is on the secesher "must watch" list for tonight. I'll keep you posted.
It probably wouldn't come as much of a surprise to regular readers of this blog that I consider the perennial loser candidate for various state offices, Dennis "Hit List" Morrisseau to be a lowlife and a scumbag. Denny's never found a conspiracy theory that he couldn't embrace, no matter how outrageous or ridiculous. Denny's used chicken wire engineering to explain how the discredited 9/11 Truthers got it right, basing his junk science on the work of cabal of anti-Semites from American Free Press, VeteransToday.com and Jim Fetzer's 9/11 Scholars for Truth. Fetzer's a proponent of the conspiracist notion that those scores of Newtown, CT parents are faking the real grief we were all witness to. In particular, he's got a conspiracist stiffy for one parent, Robbie Parker, whose daughter was murdered by Adam Lanza. Setting aside for the moment the cognitive dissonance of first accusing the Israelis of perpetrating the massacre while then accusing the parents of the murdered children of being a part of vast governmental conspiracy to concoct a fake massacre for the purpose of creating just the right climate to push through legislation to seize American's guns, let's take a look at who this nutter is citing as a compelling authority on Robbie Parker faking it. So-called Independent Addison County Senate Candidate, "Senator" Robert "Needed Killin'" Wagner, Tries to Finess the Unions and Addison County Voters
I wasn't very surprised when I saw this post on "Senator" Robert "Needed Killin' " Wagner's rambling Facebook page. Wagner is the Vermont secession movement's candidate for one of Addison County's Senate seats who poses as an "independent." Wagner is, in truth, a committed, hardcore secesher who, beyond having said that one Addison County resident "needed killin'", hates the Union, Vermont's governmental institutions, virtually all statewide office holders and the legislative community (people who have been elected by their neighbors to serve in a variety of offices, something Wagner has never done), private property and assets, as well as all of the Vermont school system
Typically, the not ever likely to be "Senator" Wagner doesn't tell the whole truth, much like when he gave his position on education to the Addison Independent during his decidedly failed 2010 run for the Vermont Senate here.
You can find what Wagner really thinks by going through the archives of the Vermont secession movement's super secret "Free Vermont" listserv, a place where the seceshers chatted unguardedly since they thought Vermonters wouldn't find them out. At the time of this beaut, Wagner was using one of his pseudonyms on the listserv, Roderick Sticomythia; it comes from his "Position Papers 8. Education":
"This won't make me any friends, but I am against public education. It is a bad idea and a drain on community wealth, and it should be abolished. The large central schools which require mass driving and busing should be re-purposed; perhaps as shelters to house the suburbanites whose single-family homes in the sprawl will become worthless without affordable fuel to get there and back."

Children need to be able to walk to school or be a short enough distance to make the trip economically feasible in post-peak-oil Vermont." Naturally, there was no objection from Wagner/Sticomythia or any of the other secesher boneheads on the thread to Denny's design to hide what they intended until they were elected. Wagner is right about one thing though, he's not going to be making any friends by opposing public education. No wonder he hid his position at the secret listserv rather than tell the press or put it on his websites during his 2010 run or this go around by him for 2012. Figures.
Wagner's Democratic opponents in this year's run for Addison County's two Senate seats, incumbent Claire Ayer and running mate Chris Bray, would do well to research some of Wagner's other positions on the searchable listserv.
Meanwhile, in another matter related to Wagner's conflicting positions, there's been no word yet about whether Wagner will be returning the $288.30 Federal subsidy he received while flying out of the airport in Rutland, VT, which is exactly the kind of Federal subsidy that he "is strongly opposed to" and has argued harms Vermonters that I revealed he'd hypocritically availed himself of (as in sticking his snout in the federal money trough) here. Wagner must publicly give back that subsidy money or he'll be exposed for the hypocritical fraud that many of us Vermonters know him to be.
Radical America bashing will be the theme for the day, interspersed with outlandish claims that this group of angry outsiders, each of whom is more unaccomplished, inexperienced and incompetent at governing than the next, is the only collection of malcontents who can properly lead Vermonters into a secessionist future. Problem is, Vermonters aren't interested in going there, and especially not with these clowns.
Never mind that they've lied to Vermonters repeatedly about the real support for their group, which they've claimed to be as much as 18%, when in fact more than 99.24% of Vermonters voted for someone other than their angry, Che Guervara embracing, middle finger waving gubernatorial candidate, Connecticut native Dennis Steele. Never mind that during their 2010 campaign they hid from Vermonters some of their beliefs and intentions. For example, Senator Robert "Needed Killin' " Wagner would have Vermont join the South and the Mountain West in becoming a right to work state, thus undermining union effectiveness, and has said so on one of those out-of-state candidate's position sites that he so fond of. Wagner's ravings include this conspiratorial beaut:
"4. Do you know what Agenda 21/Sustainable Development and the Communitarian agenda is? Do you support it? Why or why not?" "I consider it one of the gravest threats to our livelihoods and freedoms so far this Century, and I am fighting it tooth and nail in Vermont. For those who don't know, this blog got started by exposing the Second Vermont Republic and its leadership's strong ties to the racist League of the South. As recently as last year the Vermont Commons publisher and former SVR co-chair, Rob Williams, contributed an essay to a book edited by a founder of the League of the South; SVR's founder, Thomas H. Naylor, made sounds of disapproval of the racism at LoS that had been apparent to everyone but him up to that point but he did not formally sever ties with LoS, even when LoS's president, Michael Hill, openly declared his and the League's blatant formalization of its racism this past spring. A presenter at tomorrow's sideshow will be Kirkpatrick Sale, a South Carolina delegate to the Southern National Congress, a group made up of many League of the South members like its vice-chairman, Louisiana LoS chairman Mark A. Thomey. Good to see that the racist elements from the South are to be so ably represented by Sale. It should dovetail nicely with the racist proposal that Sale, Naylor and two other old white guys will seek to have the Vermonters present at their dog and pony show formally adopt as an element of yet another of their incessant manifestos and/or declarations. Dennis Morrisseau Continues To Affirm That He Is Truly An Anti-Semitic Pig
Dennis Morrisseau, a one time Rutland County Vermont senate candidate and the disgraced Vietnam War conflict evader who likes to call himself "2LT USArmy [Armor] ret" but who bailed on his comrades
when it came time to fish or cut bait has posted more anti-Semitic disinformation this past Saturday in his completely unhinged "Morrisseau World News" on July 7 at 1:38 AM thus assuring his status as the Vermont secession movement's premier paste eater:

It's due to the growing number of Jew baiting nutjobs at David Duke's website, the very active Stormfront website, Paul Craig Robert's website and even Denny's own little trafficked website. No, that's not a typo although I make my fair share. Sometimes it takes years to notice and correct them but the point here is to mention a few, if not all, of the independents running for congressional, statewide and legislative offices in the 2012 election cycle.
First though, as many of the regular readers of this blog know, I've been poking fun at the wouldbe "Senator" Robert "Needed Killin' " Wagner's boast that he had 6 people lined up to run for the Vermont Senate (although he could only name 5) and that he was seeking 24 more to replace the whole Senate with secessionists for the past year. Wagner never got around to naming his sixth person but he has spent a lot of bandwidth spouting off about topics where he clearly has nailed down the fringe position, such as his Marxist-Lenist-Stalinist-lite economic pablum called Georgism. But more on that at another time.
The Vermont Secretary of State's Office has just released its draft list of independent candidates here containing the typical 30+ names of many well intended sorts who'd like to make a difference but who are for the most part clueless as to how to go about doing so. True, there's the occasional political tiger like Bernie Sanders but he's very much the exception to the rule.
This year's slate contains a mother and son congressional duo; a few candidates seeking multiple seats, one of whom favors acronym encrusted solutions while another claims disability from an STD; others are bona fide independents who have contributed to their community and serve in the legislature; and then there are others who'd just like to get to play politician too but haven't figured out the system is geared to Duverger's Law.

Rutland County Senate Candidate Dennis Morrisseau Finally Speaks to Rutlanders About Tropical Storm Irene and the Aftermath

The would-be senator for Rutland county in the 2012 election cycle has broken his nearly monthlong silence on tropical storm Irene and its devastating impact on his Rutland county neighbors.

Irene in Vermont is now headed well into the recovery phase at this moment and absent another flood watch in the area, the clean-up here has progressed to the point where I'm getting my vibe back.

It's been apparent for a very long time that the Vermont secesher movement, which now likes to euphemistically call itself an independence movement, is essentially a hot-air machine posing as political substance that'll get into bed with any low-life, racist, anti-Semite or homophobe so long as it'll get them to their goal post, no matter who may possibly end up getting hung from it.
They've chosen to keep it vague and label themselves as "independents" and then cheesily presumed to draft in their pronouncements very real independent candidates as their supposed running mates simply because they all use that term "independent." At least one of their actual 7 candidates (not the 40 that some of them have claimed) during their 2010 across the board failure actually disavowed secession for Vermont.
This week is also the 10th anniversary of the lunatic conspiracy theory that they've also chosen to anchor their "movement" to, the 9/11 Truther nonsense. That's not such a surprise since at least one of their past Senate candidates, Gaelan Brown, believes that there's been collusion with aliens and the US government regarding resource extraction from the darkside of the moon.

Rob Williams This week is also the one year of anniversary of "Vermont Commons" news poseur and half-assed media wiz, Rob Williams, declaring on his super top-secret, hidey-hole messageboard:
"Since most Americans have been conditioned by years of corporate media training to associate anti-Israeli sentiment with Anti Semitism, talking about the Israeli Mafia smacks of antiSemitism blah blah. Holocaust, SVR are racists, etc ad nauseum. I have spent 4 years defusing the SVR/LOS nonsense and it is finally done, even in the blogosphere. Why go there again?"
It's also Rob Wiliams' 4½ year anniversary of his infamous "Don't Ask, Don't Care" policy regarding the former director of the white supremacist's League of the South "scholarly" Institute for the Study of Southern Culture and History:

Ahhh, what a difference a year can make for a not so smooth talking secesher when he's back to trying to woo a member of Vermont's press corps.
Williams' blog post on the Irene disaster surprisingly evoked a militaristic spirit ("boots on the ground") from our anti-miltary Williams, who then slithered off into a Larry-the-Cable-Guy catch phrase ("Git'er done"). Faux militarism with a dollop of insipid inspiration - that's our Robbie.
At times it seems as though Williams can't see his own blatant hypocrisy as others easily can, so it eludes him as to why he and his movement are getting no traction. Nothing on his website but ads and self-promotion. His denial of reality is on a scale that rivals Harold Camping's delusion, except that when Williams stands on a Waitsfield corner wearing his sandwich board, his reads, "Secession Is Near!"
Matthew Cropp Like Williams, another elite, academic, former campaign manager for one of the most ineptly run gubernatorial bids by a Connecticut native, Dennis Steele (for whom Williams was a primary adviser). Steele was also the former self-commissioned commander of the Green Mountain Brigade (of One?) who then flip-flopped into a "Peace Candidate" of convenience. Cropp set up this spring what he calls the Vermont Independence Alliance. Again, we're presented with the usual gauzy generalities that seceshers have become known for; non-specifics designed to include whatever they think the reader would like to hear, but this one piece jumped out at me:
"We are therefore dedicated to supporting service projects which strengthen our communities and strive to meet local needs with local resources."
So I've watched and waited but nothing's happened. And then I thought that maybe with Irene that the posturing Cropp would drop the crap and finally step up with some real substance rather than the empty words he's become so well known for but, you guessed it, he's not "supporting" shit.
The scary part of Cropp's plan is this nugget:
"In a free Vermont, on the other hand, our own political vision(s) might or might not be adopted, depending on the will of the people, but they’d certainly have the opportunity to be honestly considered and rationally debated."
Did this smart-ass just fall off the intellectual, democratic despot truck? According to his scenario, "the will of the people" can certainly include segregation, reëactment of discriminatory laws based on sexual orientation, age discrimination, resurrection of "restricted public accommodation" laws from the late 40's in Vermont regarding Jews, all in the name of "the will of the people." He never allows for otherwise in his elaborate plan for his New Vermont Order. Just make it attractive to all the baser instincts and it'll get traction, eh Matt?
How can Cropp have so such contempt for Vermonter's instincts that he'd make such thinly veiled appeals to the bigots and knuckledraggers that has been the unravelling of his mentor, Thomas Naylor? And, of course, he's not announced any "service projects which strengthen our communities and strive to meet local needs with local resources" regarding the Irene tragedy at his empty website.

Fact is that Cropp was so-o-o smart that his campaign management garnered barely ¾ of one percent of gubernatorial vote which I believe may have been the smallest vote percentage of any secesher candidate. Amazingly, Cropp has characterized his candidate's miniscule showing as "momentum." Sure.
Thomas Naylor The baas of the Second Vermont Republic, vintage über elitist, as well as an economic/academic bullshitter and longtime friend of the white supremacist League of the South hasn't even bothered to note this devastating event that's shattered the lives of so many of his Vermont neighbors. Perhaps it's because that from his redoubt in Charlotte the matter is out of sight and, so, out of mind.
Interestingly, what he did choose to post at his website the very next day after Irene struck so many was another of his banal essays entitled, "Ciphers: People of the Lie." SVR's baas tells us:
"a cipher is a secret message deliberately encoded to mislead unintended recipients."
That pretty well sums up everything that Naylor's published over the last 20 years.
He also says:
'A person, such as a (would be) political leader, who transmits misleading messages is also a cipher.'
That's Naylor to a T.
The point is that Naylor's SVR is silent and doing nothing at all for Vermonters in the wake of Irene. His dreaming of secession now doesn't count for anything except to his own "small community."
Jim Hogue Possibly the most clueless, acting out, conspiracy addled (although probably tied in that arena with the "Very Foreign Minister" Denny Morrisseau [below]), clown reënactor in the entire "small community" of seceshers.
In his 2009 video Hogue moves up the claim of secession supporters in Vermont from 13% to 18%, which would by his calculation be 110,000 or so people. All this in front of an audience of Naylor, dullard Dennis Steele, a "producer & videographer," and three other losers.
Dennis Morrisseau At the self-declared "Very Foreign Minister" of a dead in its tracks Second Vermont Republic campaign website for yet another to be miserably failed run for the 2012 Senate seat in Rutland County, so hard hit by Irene - crickets.
As we all know, Denny has a fondness for sappy 60's glurges and sexist ravings, and here's Morrisseau chicken-wire engineering explanation conjecture about what really happened on 9/11. The only thing missing is evidence:
What so many in hard hit Rutland county don't know, where people have been rendered homeless by Irene, is that Denny is a longtime advocate of shipping the homeless out-of-state so that he and his wife don't have to endure their presence. In fact, he feels that his endeavours in that area have been deserving of non-profit status, so much so that he's sued to obtain that benefit for his odious scheme.
"Senator" Robert Wagner Like Williams, Wagner is keeping his Irene response hyper-local, which means basically his street, the Ripton-Lincoln Road.
This is a guy who wants a senate seat so bad that he's taken to calling himself "Senator" a year before the election for the Addison County-Brandon seat, yet he appears to have had no real, effective presence in the surrounding county since the disaster. His website has some pictures from outside of the Addison County-Brandon area that someone else took; he advises to read the local paper (Addison Independent) where his newsworthiness has apparently escaped the writers and editors; he has no report on the state of his self-declared provisional capitol, Hancock, VT; and his website has only a reprint of a more than week old CVPS press release on the storm. His top post is for some New Age drumming crap. I'm not even going to link to such a waste of bandwidth.
Michael Patno The other declared secesher candidate from Bristol for the second Addison County-Brandon seat hasn't a damn thing at his website about what his county's residents can do or where they might obtain assistance. Perhaps more than any of the other politically ambitious seceshers, Patno truly is what Papa Naylor has called "a cipher" - one having no influence or value; a nonentity.

Dennis Steele Who can forget Vermont secesher gubernatorial candidate Dennis Steele? Well, apparently Wikipedia has since they ditched the article he, contrary to Wikipedia conflict of interest rules, put up about himself. Here's what Steele said on November 3, 2010, when he crashed and seriously burned in his 2010 bid for guv:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."
Under the 'fair use' rule of copyright law, an author may make limited use of another author's work without asking permission. Fair use is based on the belief that the public is entitled to freely use portions of copyrighted materials for purposes of commentary and criticism. The fair use privilege is perhaps the most significant limitation on a copyright owner's exclusive rights.
Fair use as described at 17 U.S.C. Section 107:
"Notwithstanding the provisions of section 106 and 106A, the fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phono-records or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright.
In determining whether the use made of a work in any particular case is a fair use the factors to be considered shall include:
(1) the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for or nonprofit educational purposes,
(2) the nature of the copyrighted work,
(3) the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole, and
(4) the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work."
