Another One Bites The Dust

Enough isn't being said about failures of the secessionist movement. What's left of the group that called itself the Second Vermont Republic is a mere shadow on a cloudy day of what it used to be. At its greatest, SVR claimed 125 "members," that is until its founder, the Dixie singin' Thomas Naylor, eliminated memberships and declared himself a "think tank." He stopped bankrolling the Vermont secesher print journal, Vermont Commons and funding their gatherings so their visibility became nil. Then Naylor up and died a year and a half ago and that brought the few remaining VT secesher antics to a screeching halt.

Similarly, Ed Sebesta over at the Anti-neo-Confederate blog reported yesterday about the folding of the Southern Nationalist Network website, a website that had been devoted to the racist and anti-gay nature of the "emerging" Southern secessionist movement. Most of its membership seems to come from the depleted ranks of the League of the South, Sons of Confederate Veterans and a few mostly defunct chapters of the Klan. It seems that the SNN feels that they've been so successful in their demonstrations, where they number usually less than ten, that they no longer have the need for a platform like a website. Su-u-re. In the 21st century the path to success lies in restricting your public access.

Here's Ed's report:
Southern Nationalist Network Website is Supposedly Shut Down Because It is Claimed That It Has Been a Big Success
May 8, 2015

"The www.southernnationalist.com website has shut down."

"The person who ran it claimed that the website was shut down for this reason:"
"Over these past 5 years demonstrations have been held to rally folks to the idea of independence for Dixie. Many people have become serious Southern nationalists. Due to this rise in activity SNN will be shutting down; in order to begin a new phase that will inspire even more folks to get involved in the movement."
"So because the website was successful it is being shut down and the ownership given up. I would like to suggest another possibility, the SNN wasn't going anywhere."

"You look at photos of the League of the South/SNN demonstrations and you realize that there aren't a lot of people at the demonstrations."

"Or perhaps there wasn't any money to pay the bill. Even if you were going on to another activity you would retain ownership of the existing site to refer people to your new site or activity."

"I don't think the SNN's demise is a great advance. It didn't seem to be accomplishing much. I thought because they were protesting they might get recruits. Direct action, protests often get people involved. But it seems there isn't seem to be any public support for the SNN's agenda."
The Southern seceshers got maybe ten people to turn out, on a good day, for their demos. Not unlike VT seceshers who at their last Statehouse stunt got maybe a dozen people from instate, some visiting allies from out-of-state and a few of the nutters from that worn-out act called Bread and Puppet Theater. The VT seceshers were spread out so thinly on the Statehouse floor that they had to shout to hear each other.

So, if you want to see one of the last remaining seceshers in Vermont, you'll have to go to the Waitsfield or Warren Fourth of July parade (no irony there, huh?) where you'll get to see Rob William's wizened scowl.

UPDATE Sunday, May 10, 2015, 12:00 PM: There's a particularly vicious racist, homophobic and anti-Semitic website called Occidental Dissent run by a white supremacist and neo-Confederate scumbag named Brad Griffin a.k.a. Hunter Wallace where the commenters are lamenting the passing of the Southern Nationalist Network. Included in the collective wailing and whining is this post by the piece of shit who ran the racist Southern Nationalist Network, another neo-Confederate waste of time by the name of Michael Cushman. Here's his bullshit:

May 9, 2015 at 4:44 AM

Thank you very much to those who read and supported the site. I enjoyed running SNN and met quite a few really good folks thru it. It was intended to be more than a blog. We did regular podcasts, videos, organised (sic) activism, etc. It was much too much for me to operate by myself once I began to work more hours. Even with a little help it was too much. I also felt it had served its purpose by popularising (sic) the term and ideology ‘Southern nationalist’ among those in pro-Southern and pro-White circles. We mostly defeated the Rainbow Confederate forces and moved the Southern secessionist movement in an ethno-nationalist direction. That said, we were not seeing a lot of growth in our ranks despite a lot of time, money and effort being put into the project over 5 years. So I think it is time for the next thing. To get a different – better – result something new must be tried, I think. We need talented people to step up with new ideas for spreading our worldview. For the last few months I have been focused on writing a Golden Circle book. I recently finished the first draft of that and will soon start a new book project. As HW says, I do plan to start a new blog – a much less ambitious but more manageable site than SNN.
Heh!

Vermont State Police Report neo-Nazi Graffiti In Charlotte, VT

In a press release yesterday the Vermont State Police reported an incident involving neo-Nazi graffiti at the old Charlotte, VT train station. Their press release reads, in part:
SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On this date and time VT State Police Williston received a vandalism complaint from VTrans (Vermont Transportation Agency). They received a report of graffiti vandalism at this location. A trooper responded and noted a significant amount of graffiti painted on the structure, to include but not limited to swastikas, anti-Semitic and racist statements.
Charlotte, home to Vermont's 1%, was the longtime community of residence of the now dead founder of the Second Vermont Republic, Thomas Naylor. Naylor was a raving anti-Semite with strong ties to the Holocaust denial community that includes Iran's propaganda arm, PressTV, as well James Edwards notoriously racist and anti-Semitic program called The Political Cesspool. Edwards is also a figure of importance at the racist League of the South where, when he lived, Naylor maintained ties for many years. Interestingly, before he died Naylor conspired with Canadian neo-Nazi, Sebastian Ernst Ronin, to create a "white homeland" in northern New England and the Canadian Maritimes.

Perhaps the Charlotte graffiti holds a deeper meaning; that is, an act meant to honor a past resident who harbored such sentiments.

Cascadia? Nuts!

Years ago secession guru, anti-Semite and a co-founder of the Second Vermont Republic, Kirkpatrick Sale, made the surprising admission that a good many of the secessionist organizations listed at his Middlebury Institute (much to Middlebury VT's chagrin) were little more than websites comprised of only a few or one member. While he described his own group as an "umbrella" organization, it too was little more than a website maintained by another anti-Semite like Sale called Carol Moore.

Sure, the now dead baas of SVR, the Dixie singin' Thomas Naylor was also a member of MI but that was pretty much it. The MI organized and sponsored a couple or three poorly attended (primarily by racists from the League of the South, the Alaska Independence Party and the Hawaiian independence movement) conferences, mostly in the Deep South, that were little more than gatherings of the same small group of committed racists and anti-Semitic secesher assholes - Michael Hill, Donald Livingston, Rob Williams, Naylor, Sale, the Dexters, ad nauseum. Stunts, really, designed to get some AP and FOX News coverage and accomplished little more. Except for the overtly racist LoS, they've stopped even doing that. All the "big plans" - Town Meeting articles, constitutional conventions, candidates standing for elective office - have come to naught, as well as to an end.

Recently the San Francisco Chronicle ran a piece titled "Cascadia Secession Apparently Not As Easy As It Sounds" on the Left Coast secesher group Cascadia Now! After a word salad interview of seemingly one of its few members, Brandon Letsinger, the Chronicle lays bare the phoniness of the group. (Note: The group claims thousands of members but offers no proof, much as Naylor once claimed that more than 60,000 Vermont voters supported secession but when the time came to vote far less than 1% of Vermont's registered voters supported the secesher gubernatorial candidate, a number comparable to the average of spoilt ballots in an election.)

Then the Chronicle's Caille Millner got down to it:
"When it came to the question of how this republic might come about, however, Letsinger was more circumspect. He thinks politics are “irrelevant, negative, and toxic.” Cascadia, he emphasized, is about “an identity” to connect the region’s 15 million people."

"To this end, Cascadia Now! has a soccer team (they want to play Quebec), a poetry festival, and a Scouting Association. They have their own beer, “Cascadian dark ale,” made with hops from the region."

"The crowd seemed pleased. Cascadia sounded like great fun until the next speaker, Joshua Clover, took the podium."

"Clover is a 52-year-old UC Davis literature professor who specializes in political economy. He came prepared with his own PowerPoint slides; he wanted to tell the crowd about the history of secession movements in the 20th century. (I told you Kadist was sly.)"

"Cheerfully, Clover talked about how previous breakaway movements around the world had led to battles, purges, invasions and sieges."

"As the bodies stacked up, I could feel the energy in the room shift into discomfort."

"What had happened to the hops? Where had the positive identity gone?"

"As for freedom from the shackles of the empire, well, Clover didn’t think Cascadia would have that, either — not in today’s global market. 'It’s unclear what regionalism could mean unless a place is prepared to, say, make its own refrigerators.'"

"Right now, Clover said in a buoyant voice, all of the world’s refrigerators are made in China."

"Clover wasn’t done yet. He layered a demographic map of the United States over that of Cascadia. Look at the dots, he urged us. Cascadia is 'a peculiarly non-diverse region with the exception of some native peoples for whom previous secessions have proven deadly.'"

"Cascadia, he said, represented 'demographic anti-blackness.'"

"It took the audience a few moments to come up with questions after Clover sat down."

"But his gimlet-eyed view of Cascadia’s Happy Valley had an unexpected benefit: Some audience members discovered that they had a few doubts about this whole secession thing."

"An audience member asked Letsinger about the steps that Cascadia had taken to reach out to the region’s indigenous people. Letsinger said that they had engaged in outreach, and that some of the tribes had “similar values” about environmentalism and activism. Cascadia’s values, he added, were attractive enough that others would come to them."

"But the question persisted, and Letsinger got annoyed: 'I’ve heard this, the idea that this movement is not diverse enough so you need to reach out to these people. We see that as a colonization of our values.'"

"The idea that a suggestion to reach out to historically oppressed people would cause the Cascadia movement such suffering! It was so dazzling, so bizarre, that I almost missed the next question."

"'Cascadia seems more like a brand, like a shared narrative fantasy,' said an audience member. She wanted to know, essentially, what the plan was to make the idea more concrete."

"Unfortunately, making Cascadia concrete would require, well, politics. Letsinger wanted to keep talking about bioregionalism, about creating a brand that was “open source,” about how Cascadia Now! makes all of its own merchandise."

"I felt the evening’s vision of freedom and positivity ebbing quickly away, and I felt so bad for Letsinger that I didn’t even ask him to explain his statement about colonization. Instead I asked him about how Cascadia could avoid the violence that had plagued so many other breakaway movements throughout time."

"'It’s a good question,' he said, and admitted that violence would be a breaking point for him personally."

"He wanted a model more like Scotland, where the voters had had a choice. But the voters in Scotland voted not to secede, and that election had a degree of seriousness that I hadn’t gotten from this discussion. I walked out of Kadist with new questions, like:"

"Does Cascadia really want to secede? Or do they just want a good beer?"

Oddly enough, early SVR member and longtime syncophant, Peter Buknatski a.k.a. "Petey Sweety," was a registered at the Vermont Secretary of State's website as an owner of Second Vermont Republic Beer, Ale and Brewing or some such nonsense which has likewise come to naught. Little wonder then that Williams got some serious wood over the alcoholic aspect to the article in his own post at his hate blog (Note: I do not link to Williams' hate site; it's easily found if you have to.)

Is This Any Way To Run A Republic's Gift Shop?

Occasionally on Rob Williams' hate blog he plugs a small assortment of geegaws selling for grossly inflated prices at his Vermont secessionist website. For instance, he has a collection of stale articles and commentaries from his defunct print journal that he'll sell ya for a cool $19.95; the only thing is that you can get it at Amazon for $6.35 where it's their 2,174,272nd best seller - ugh. Robbie-boy will also clip you for $30 for a half size replica of the Green Mountain Boys flag that he now claims is the flag of the non-existent Second Vermont Republic. The problem for Rob is that it's been the official battle flag of the Vermont Air and Army National Guard for decades before he and the Dixie singin' Thomas H. Naylor (who's still dead, btw) started fantasizing about ruling Vermont, and which in just the past decade or so alone has been carried into combat from Macedonia to Whatthefuckistan on numerous occasions.

Perhaps the most juvenile item that he has for sale is a "sovereign citizen" like Vermont Republic passport - "Use this commemorative parchment passport to gain access to VIP special events! Declare your support for decentralism at all border crossings!" - which is guaranteed to get you detained if you attempt to use it At a point of entry or as identification to board an aircraft.

Here's where Williams' internet savvy really got to shine in a not so good way recently. A mark, er, customer by the name of Gary W. Potter wrote on August 25, 2014 that,
I ordered a Republic of Vermont passport several weeks ago and never received it. I wondered if there was a problem.
Lightning fast - not - Williams' 2ndvtrepublic store shot Potter back a reply to his query on December 9, 2014,
Hi Gary – turns out, our Paypal link was broken. Email us at publisher@2VR.org with your address, and we’ll get one in the mall to you right away – on the house. Sorry for the delay!
I'm sure that Gary gave up checking on a reply to his problem months ago and that's probably spared him a night in the lockup at Border Patrol's Highgate crossing in the meantime. Oh, and since it's obviously an Internet ripoff site I'm not providing a link.

If Williams were to run his empire or republic like he runs his gift shop we'd all be fucked.

Is a Secession Supporter Running in the Burlington, VT Mayoral Race?

UPDATE: Wednesday, Dec. 3, 4:00 PM Secession flack and political drama queen Greg Guma to announce Burlington mayoral election bid on Thursday, Dec. 4. Yawn...

* * * * *

Well, certainly stranger campaigns have occurred in Burlington's past. But this year's musing by longtime political wannabe and unsuccessful influence on the body politic, Greg Guma, deserve a look if not much more.

Guma's been on the edge of the Burlington political scene for what seems like forever. One news organization even made the mistake of using him for past Burlington political campaign coverage and learned that with Guma's "journalism" comes his inevitable slant.

Last week I learned of Guma's latest ploy in a post of his at the Second Vermont Republic hate site (and, no, I don't link to there). I then found a similar advisory on the all-Guma-all-the-time blog here. In a tired and typical pol style, Guma self flogs his importance to the political scene despite his abundant lack of real accomplishment; it's like he's made it notwithstanding his never having done so. His brief tenure at Pacifica was wracked with conflict that led inevitably to his departure with little to show for his time there. Hell, he once had a largely self written Wikipedia article that Wikipedia dropped due to his "lack of notability."

Guma gives himself a backslapping blurb in the announcement post from some other non-notable and even hints at his crucial role in the ascent of Vermont's star and possible presidential contender Bernie Sanders.

Guma goes on at some length about a December 2 meeting without providing a link or a place whereat some might ponder the importance and relevance of a Guma candidacy to the public weal.
"In short, the question I am now considering is whether to proceed anyway or, as I did 35 years ago when Bernie Sanders and I were both organizing mayoral campaigns, step aside for someone else. I'll be listening, watching closely, and thinking it over between now and Dec. 2. In the meantime, I have asked my current supporters to spread the word, invite others, and let me know what they think. If the prevailing sentiment is that Steve (Goodkind) is the right person and the only challenger needed, I need to hear why. The responses, along with discussion on Dec. 2, will be a significant factor in my choice."
Okay. We can probably agree that for such a non-player on the political scene Greg Guma has a pretty inflated sense of self-importance. But by this point one or two of you may be asking why-TF does Rowley give a shit about this loser? Well, Guma comes from a short list of flacks for the so-called "Second Vermont Republic." It's a really short list that includes basically Christopher Ketcham and Shay Totten. Ketcham's published a book on the topic that's gone nowhere, acknowledged that he snuck in a piece for Time that he later admitted was "a favor" for his Vermont Secesher friends and Totten now flacks books since Thomas Naylor is no longer his meal ticket - you'd of thought they might have gotten together on it but seceshers aren't exactly the brightest bulbs. In 2008 Guma wrote one piece that pushes what he thought were the strengths of secession without really telling the whole truth; some "muckraker," as he likes to characterize himself. Here's how he colored the controversy that sent SVR into its death spiral:
"... The controversy began when the Southern Poverty Law Center accused (Thomas) Naylor and the group of talking to an allegedly racist group, the League of the South. Critics pounced, and Seven Days, a liberal weekly in Vermont that was distributing Vermont Commons as an insert, decided to end the arrangement. Labor groups soon demanded the removal of offensive web links on Second Vermont Republic's website, disassociation from certain groups or individuals, and the release of a statement clearly opposing racism, fascism, bigotry, and discrimination. Although there is no evidence that Vermont secessionists condone such things, they've been pressured to prove it."
Actually, Greg, the"critics pounced" before the Southern Poverty Law Center took an interest in SVR and Naylor, and there's nothing "alleged" about the overt racism, misogyny, anti-Semitism and homophobia of the League of the South, in fact they're quite proud of their various hatreds. This blog and two others published extensively and were quite involved in petitioning the SPLC to take a look at Naylor and his flying monkeys. And there was plenty of evidence at the time that SVR condoned institutionalized homophobia, segregation, anti-Semitism and racism; all one had to do was read their publication, Vermont Commons, and Naylor's own website.

Guma has written other dishonest representations of the Vermont secesher movement but that could be the basis for a future post - who knows? Until then Guma will be consumed with his bloatedly self-important decision.
"This is an important moment for Burlington. In the next few years, decisions will be made that could transform the community for generations. If I do run, my goal will not be just to win, but to challenge complacency, provincialism, gentrification and the current redevelopment push, and to open up debate on crucial choices facing the city we love. What I find out in the next two weeks will determine whether that happens. I look forward to hearing what Burlington residents have to say and how they feel about a real independent voice in the race."
Yes, Greg. I'm sure that there are tens of Burlingtonians awaiting your decision.

"A Rose by Any Other Name..."

Followers of this blog know that the name that I use here, Thomas Rowley, is a pseudonym. Blogs that are singular efforts devoted to exposing racists, anti-Semites and the like often are posted anonymously for reasons that often have to do with safety. I learned that lesson early on when another blogger who was identifiable and assisted in exposing the deep ties of the Second Vermont Republic to the racist, white supremacist League of the South was attacked by the SVR chairman, Thomas H. Naylor, at his job. Naylor sought to end that blogger's employment and healthcare for his family.

As things heated up for the SVR crowd because of the exposure of their ties to bigots and for their having provided a platform at their various websites for the writings of racists, conspiracists, segregationists, anti-Semites, misogynists and homophobes, so did their anger come to a boil. One of the leaders urged that crimes be committed against those that exposed them. Another sought to normalize their group by demanding that they be debated at a venue of their choice and using a moderator who'd been secretly associated with their leadership for years. Despite those and other efforts, the SVR leadership never came close to successfully refuting a single fact presented here and at other blogs. Most of the links that I have provided to their posts no longer work because of a more than year long effort by the SVR leadership to purge their websites of the evidence. Thankfully, the screen caps all remain.

I mention the above to give some context to a recent incident regarding the efforts of racists and anti-Semites to reveal the identity of one similarly successful blogger who I've mentioned here a number of times. He/she goes by the name Spelunker. A New Yorker who uses the pseudonym BoyHowdy and is a sustaining member of the hate website Stormfront.org mistakenly identified a supposedly Jewish journalist as being Spelunker. Stormfront posters have been tied to more than 100 murders so this is no little matter. Online haters like the website Occidental Dissent ran with the Stormfront misinformation that you can read about here. So consumed with the notion that they could "out" the identity of Spelunker the haters failed to notice that they lacked one element - facts. Apparently, thinking that a purportedly Jewish journalist looked as they would imagine that their nemesis Spelunker might look was all that the haters needed to dox him. Despite denials by Spelunker and others, the haters remained convinced that they had their man. I'd even pointed out to them that they lacked "incontrovertible evidence" but that didn't matter.

This week the story took a decidedly ironic turn. Stormfront's supposed outer of Spelunker, the pseudonymous BoyHowdy, was himself outed in a damning exposé published by the Southern Poverty Law Center. BoyHowdy is in fact a Manhattan Web designer named Robert H. DePasquale and his cyber target was erroneously identified as Jewish, although DePasquale's supporters could agree that the target looked Jewish, whatever the fuck that means. SPLC reports,
"His victim, who asked not to be identified, told the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) he is not Spelunker, just someone who is now caught up in the vindictive and racist underworld of Stormfront. Spelunker, who has not revealed his identity to the SPLC, also said that the journalist is not him."
It gets better. According to the respected anti-fascist website One People's Project, in 2013 DePasquale ran for the NJ U.S. Senate seat vacated by the death of Frank Lautenberg. Although he his a NY resident, DePasquale claimed NJ residency by using the Butler, NJ post office box of the racist American Freedom Party. You couldn't make shit like this up. Read the One People's Project report outing DePasquale here.

Spelunker has demanded that the racist nutters take down their erroneous information but I don't think we should be holding our collective breaths for that for long.

UPDATE: 4:30 PM I posted a comment at the Occidental Dissent hatesite today on their "Who Is Spelunker?" post suggesting that they update their post correcting the erroneous information about who Spelunker is and the comment wasn't approved, natch. And so the lie of the racist Brad Griffin, aka Wallace Hunter, and son-in-law to the racist founder of the Council of Conservative Citizens Gordon Baum lives on.

EXCLUSIVE: Vermont Secessionist Pol Says "Vermont Independence Is Pretty Much A Joke"

No, even though I've been saying something similar about the Vermont secession movement for years, I didn't say it in quite those words and although I've heard it said by many non-secessionists over the years this is the first time I've heard that sentiment expressed by a secesher deadender. That honor goes to the Vermont secesher 2010 Washington County senatorial candidate who was also an invited member of the highly secret Free Vermont listserv. There he opined that errant legislators should suffer capital punishment for their legislative transgressions; that NASA was conspiring with aliens to receive advanced technology in exchange for raw materials on the dark side of the Moon; that chemtrails (contrails) are a secret concoction of gubmint mind control chemicals spread for maximum effect from aircraft at 30,000 ft. - no, really; and that he should be Minister of Agriculture or some such nonsense in the future Second Vermont Republic. That's right, the person who dissed the "VT independence" movement on the 2014 Vermont secesher Secretary of State candidate's Facebook page is none other than Gaelan Brown. And if anyone should know the true state of affairs with the "VT independence" movement it's certainly Brown, a lapdog of the remnants of the SVR leadership.
"Sadly, VT independence is pretty much a joke, just like (the) book Out(: The Vermont Secession Book) even though it's a fun thought."
Gaelan Brown, March 4, 2014 @ 7:01 AM
All of the mainstays of the 2010 campaign, including the ones who said that they'd run in 2014, have bailed and earlier this year one of them takes a big dump on the movement as a whole. So who does that leave in the movement, Rob Williams? He can't even find his way out the mess he's made by not renouncing and denouncing the newly invigorated, if ineffectual, racist League of the South. You can read more about the Vermont secesher losers "Trail of Broken Political Promises and Bullshit" here.

With the stalwarts walking away and/or pissing on the notion of Vermont secession, it's safe to say that the show is over and the only one who doesn't seem to get that is Williams, the onetime co-chairman with the now quite dead Thomas H. Naylor and who with Naylor convened a meeting at which he invited out of state racist and homophobic hate groups to Burlingtoon, VT, and who is the current self annointed new baas of the remains of the Second Vermont Republic and the unchallenged Minister of Second Vermont Republic Secessionist Fuckweaselry.

Brown is right; what a joke.

The Banality of Treason

For years I've written about the Vermont secession movement and its unbroken string of failures; from its multiple, miserably failed political campaigns (there are two secession supporters in this year's Vermont gubernatorial race, Peter Diamondstone and Emily Peyton, who are perpetual also rans who poll in the single or fractional digits); to its repeated attempts to infuse a virulent form of anti-Semitism into Vermont's political discussion; to seditious plans to go around Vermont's constitutionally mandated form of governance; to promoting crackpot electoral schemes to "vote out" all 30 sitting members of the Vermont Senate and replace them with seceshers - result: 0 of "The Thirty" voted out; to maintaining open alliances with racist and homophobic secessionist groups around the country; to spreading conspiracy theory loopiness, like the 9/11 Truther/inside job crap and speculation about contrails and NASA engaged in mineral exchanges on the dark side of the Moon with aliens for their technology (yeah, ya read that right); to outright lies about Vermont history such as the claim that Vermont was a participant in the seditious Hartford Convention organized by New England's then 1% (the Vermont legislature sent no representatives and the only Windham County Vermonter to attend paid his own way and left no record of whatever his "participation" might have been at the secret convention); or, perhaps most significantly, that the "independent state" of Vermont, which just happened to be the term used by each of the thirteen original colonies to describe themselves, ever functioned as a "republic" in any real way - the only act that even remotely mimicked that of a free and "independent" republic was the secret Haldimand Affair negotiations, which was nothing more than an treasonous attempt, and so considered by the Vermont state legislature, by the Allen brothers, Joseph Fay and Thomas Chittenden to extend their land holdings and which immediately fell apart with the outbreak of peace and the initial creation of the Union. Maybe that's where Rob Williams Gary "The Rocket Scientist" Flomenhoft and their troop of dullards got the idea to set up a shadow governmental agency that no one was suppose to know about, anymore than the Continental Congress was ever aware in any relevant way of a so-called First Vermont Republic. Also, illicitly declaring a "provisional" capital at a B&B in the hamlet of Hancock, VT after their disastrous showing at the polls in the 2010 election. This is just a short list of the crazy that permeates the sesechers treasonous bent.

Treason has always had a special place in the minds of desperate, power driven types. It's what drove the crackpot, anti-Semite who founded the Second Vermont Republic, the Dixie singin' Thomas H. Naylor, to establish alliances with racists at the League of the South, an alliance that the present day baas of SVR, Rob Williams, has yet to renounce or denounce, as well as with a viciously homophobic South Carolina based evangelical hate group that called itself Christian Exodus. Naylor's shared dream with Canadian racist, anti-Semite and fascist Sebastian Ernst Ronin was the creation of a white homeland comprised of northern New England and the Canadian Maritime provinces that they proposed be called Novacadia.

Treason of a sort unpermitted by the U.S. Constitution is what drives present day secessionists, just as it did the traitors of the old Confederacy.

An anonymous post (not that there's anything wrong with that) at Burlington , VT's Champlain College adjunct faculty member Rob Williams' recently reactivated hate blog, the second coming of Naylor's SVR website, touts the results of the Reuters poll without mentioning that more than 53.3% of Americans oppose secession of any type, period.

Secession is not an legal option available to any and all who desire it. The White House has itself put the kibosh on the notion of any state seceding from the Union, as has the Supreme Court in Texas v. White. One need only look at a recent poll of suspect methodology that alleges that 23.9% of Americans " were strongly or provisionally inclined to leave the United States, and take their states with them."

Significantly, the Reuters poll also reports that of racist, hate motivated Tea Party types, 53% of their conservative ilk want secession. What Williams' secesher website also doesn't report is that the least amount of support in America, 19%, is what is found in New England. But we already knew that in Vermont since when Vermonters last had a chance to vote for a secesher gubernatorial candidate, the Brawny Towel guy reënactor and Connecticut native Dennis Steele, 99.24% of Vermonters voted in the only poll that really counts, an election, for someone other than the secesher candidate, which comes as no surprise since Williams got maybe 10 people to vote for the secesh candidate in his hometown of Waitsfield, VT (a number which probably doesn't include his wife Kate since she has publicly stated that she doesn't support his secesher plan).

Secession is not legal, therefore a secesher plan is treasonous even if you slap the lipstick of "peaceful" on it as Williams so often does.

The short observation is that Williams and his nutjob pals are traitors, plain and simple.

Vermont Secessionist Losers and Their Trail of Broken Political Promises and Bullshit

"Never give up, Never give in, Never surrender"
"Senator" Robert "Needed Killin' " Wagner, November 13, 2012
With those words, two time loser for an Addison county Vermont state senate seat, closed his 2012 campaign, seemingly promising to rise again from its ashes to wage another fruitless campaign. He even immediately renamed his Facebook page, "Robert Wagner for Vermont Senate 2014" where on March 13, 2013 he wrote,
"I remain your candidate..."
Well, maybe not so much. That was the last thing he's posted on the matter. More than a year later, June's 2014 filing date for independent Senate candidates came and went with no petition submitted by Wagner. Even his "Senator Wagner" website has gone dark.

Likewise, Wagner's self-described "friend," the proudly misogynist and the inveterate anti-Semite at Rob Williams' hate blog, Dennis "Hit List" Morrisseau, also failed to register for an independent run for a Rutland county Vermont Senate seat but he still has a 2014 campaign website. Go figure.

Morrisseau was the architect of plan to replace each and every one of Vermont's senate incumbents with secesher Kool-Aid drinkers. I guess that's now on hold too.

In a fashion similar to Wagner's, Vermont's 2010 secesher gubernatorial candidate Dennis Steele, while acknowledging that more than 99% of Vermonters voted for someone else, pledged,
"Today represents a beginning, not an end. When I agreed to take on the difficult and exhausting task of running for Governor as an independent this year, I did so with the hopes that my actions would serve to help lay the foundations for a robust, grass-roots movement that will carry the message of a Free Vermont forward. Towards that end, I’ve been collaborating with several supporters to found a democratic, state-wide organization. Dedicated to spreading the ideas of Vermont Independence, providing support for Independence-minded candidates for public office, and organizing volunteer activities that both serve our neighbors and help lessen our communities’ dependence on the Federal Government, it will serve as our movement’s new center and engine of growth. It will be organized by county, and I encourage anyone who supported my campaign to get involved in their county committee."
And since then no one has heard shit from Dennis Steele. According to one published report, it indicates that he's presently engaged in peddling an addictive and possibly carcinogenic substance in the NEK. So much for "serv(ing)... neighbors" and reducing "dependence," eh?

After their miserable showing in 2010, the seceshers declared their "independence" and established a provisional capital in the sparsely populated central Vermont town of Hancock. Most of the VT secesher movement's luminaries attended the convening session of their, uh, congress - their hate blog publisher, Rob; Gary "The Rocket Scientist and Public Bankster" Flomenhoft; Matt "Never Won An Election Yet" Cropp; you know, the usual suspects.

A promised run by a Fairfax, VT secesher insider has also failed to materialize. Secesher outliers like "Terry" Jeroloman, Gus Jaccaci, James Merriman and Gaelan "Aliens-NASA Conspiracy on the Dark Side of the Moon" Brown are again sitting this election cycle out.

The fact is that the only secession supporters left running are kooks like Ben Eastwood, Emily Peyton and Peter Diamondstone (who raised secession in a debate with Bernie Sanders in 2012), and there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that any one of them will eke out more than a low single or fractional digit electoral result.

It's beginning to look more and more like Thomas Naylor's dream of an independent white homeland called the Second Vermont Republic or Novacadia or some such nonsense, is nearly as dead as he is.

"Ex nihilo, in nihilum"

Two Secessionists Are Running for the Vermont Governor's Office This Year

If you've been following race, then you must be a blogger. In the real world, nobody much cares at this point. I've already posted about Emily Peyton's incoherent campaign which relies on child molesters, murderers and assorted convicted and incarcerated (out-of-state) felons for campaign work; that on its face doesn't seem to very bright, optics-wise. You can read that post here.

Now comes the Liberty Union's perennial loser (22 times, I believe he's said), Peter Diamondstone, for yet another shellacking. In an at times confused, incoherent, muddled and just plain irrational interview on VPR This evening, Diamondstone cites as his number one issue in this year's gubernatorial race is to be - drumroll - secession. He wants to carry on the failures of the still dead Thomas Naylor and his handpicked gubernatorial loser, Connecticut native, Dennis Steele. That shouldn't be a hard record to match given his own string of unbroken failures

In what promises to be a hard fought battle as to who can get the fewest votes - last time in 2012, Diamondstone got a whooping 0.9%, meaning that more than 99% of the Vermont electorate voted for someone other than Diamondstone.

No doubt there's a bitter fight going on between the Diamondstone-Peyton campaigns over who's going to get the benefit of the secesher political oligarch, Rob Williams' savvy boneheaded campaign insights. When it rains idiots running as secesher candidates, it pours'em, eh, Robster?

I really don't know whether to laugh or throw up. Either's appropriate in the case of these two secesher losers. You'd think they might have pooled, rather than split what little support that there is for secession in Vermont by running on a complimentary ticket - you know, guv and lite guv. Must be too complicated a calculation for this secesher brain trust.

Dennis Steele still has time to get in on the action as a write-in loser.

Quel plaisir!

VTDigger Posts a Vermont Secessionist Bonehead's Energy Rant Without Disclosing That Hans O'Hanion Is A Secesher

A reader has pointed me to an Op-Ed commentary posted at VTDigger by Vermont secessionist Hans O'Hanion. O'Hanion's curricula vitae omits this fact, as well as O'Hanion's longtime association with his Charlotte neighbor, the still dead Dixie singin' anti-Semite and proponent of a white homeland comprised of northern New England and the Canadian Maritimes, Thomas H. Naylor.

Like Naylor, O'Hanion has major probs with our congressional delegation, state government and the average Vermonter's commitment to seeking a path to sustainable energy alternatives that don't involve dangerous nuclear power plants. O'Hanion's piece disparages average Vermonters in a major way because he's a scholar academic blowhard (Academic blowhards are a staple of the anti-Semitic and racist pan-secessionist movement). O'Hanion essentially argues that sustainable energy alternatives are all inferior to "safe" nuclear power modules. Remember, back before Three Mile Island, when the egghead blowhards told us that nuclear power plants were safe? O'Hanion can't seem to accept the decision of the vast majority of Vermonters that nuclear is definitely not something that they want in the energy mix. O'Hanion's chance of successfully peddling his nonsense in his lifetime is about the same as Naylor's dream of creating a white homeland in his lifetime, although he has succeeded in projecting the degree of contempt that Naylor had before he croaked for the average Vermonter.

Where this secesher nonsense involving O'Hanion and the utterly failed Vermont "independence" crap converges is in the ill-fated seditious attempt by a small group of Vermont secesher boneheads to reconstitute a state governmental branch that had been legally disbanded nearly a hundred and fifty years ago called the Vermont Council of Censors. The duties of the Council are now those of the Vermont Supreme Court. The "reconstitution" was proposed by scholar rocket scientist Gary Flomenhoft at a secesher meeting in May of 2009 at Goddard College. While the original Council members were elected by Vermonters, the "reconstituted" group was made up of self-selected appointees like Dennis "Hit List" Morrisseau, Not-So-Senator Robert "Needed Killin' " Wagner, and O'Hanion.

All this Vermont Council of Censors stupidity that was intended to oversee the legislation coming out of the General Assembly and the activities of the Governor's office came to a screeching halt when I exposed it in 2010 here.

I'm left wondering why the "diggers" at VTDigger left this out of O'Hanion's background description. Wouldn't it have helped readers to gauge how unhinged the following commentary would turn out to be?

O'Hanion has no, um, better booster than the publisher of the failed Vermont secesher hate blog, Rob Williams, who called O'Hanion:
"[an] enthusiastic supporter of Vermont independence"
At about the time O'Hanion and his cohorts were advancing their seditious plot, the late Julie Waters nailed it thusly:
"What used to be a movement that was looked at with at least some small amount of interest has now been completely discredited."
- Julie Waters, Monday, July 6, 2009
Shame on VTDigger for missing this very pertinent detail from their commentator O'Hanion's background.

(h/t Todd)

Crypto-Fascist Keith Preston's Longtime Love Affair With Vermont's Own Bigoted Secessionists

Normally, rather than reprise past posts I merely link to them for the reader's benefit, should they so choose to learn more. However, recently a racial separatist who tries unsuccessfully to mask his toxic fascist tendencies has turned his attention to this blog. So, to provide more understanding of his depraved political agenda, I've reposted immediately below two posts from December, 2012

There'll be an afterword.
Keith Preston: A Tribute from A Secessionist Bigot for the Late Thomas H. Naylor
Friday, December 12, 2012

This one comes from Keith Preston, an anarcho, pan-secessionist, anti-immigrant, racial "realist" (Read: racist), anti-Semitic, segregation affirming homophobe who, naturally, has a few issues with women as well.

Preston has a history of supporting extremists like Naylor. Preston was a contributor to the white nationalist conference held by the National Policy Institute (NPI) in 2011. According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, the NPI is an active white nationalist group based in Georgia; there's more from the SPLC here. Here's NPI's website (and don't forget to wash when you're done). A project of the NPI on the web called Alternative Right which calls itself Euro-Centric (and we're not talking about currency) identifies Preston as a part of their editorial collective of white guys here.

He's been described as a "fascist in anarchist clothing," but I liken his style, both personal and in writing, as more like the Comic Book Guy, if the Comic Book Guy wore a swastika armband around the comic bookstore.

The website One People's Project has more on Preston's racist ties with such low-lifes as The Political Cesspool's James Edwards and American Renaissance's Jared Taylor here, here and here.

At his website, Attack The System, Preston wrote:
"It is with great regret that I must inform our readers of the passing of Thomas H. Naylor, founder of the Second Vermont Republic. I received word earlier this evening that Tom passed away last night after a sudden stroke at the age of 76."

"Fortunately, I was able to interview Tom for my podcast on Voice of Reason earlier this year..."

"Tom was the author of thirteen books, including three on secession, and one of his books, Downsizing the USA, was crucial in the development of my own political outlook. It was largely due to Tom’s influence that I came to realize that decentralized micronations achieved through pan-secession are the most viable alternative to the Leviathan mega-states that plague us today. I cannot recommend Tom’s voluminous body of writings of these issue(sic) highly enough..."
Yes, "Tom" was an inspiration to a racist, anti-Semitic, homophobic and plainly misogynistic dirtbag.

Figures.

Here's an obscure, little known fact: Preston is the Secessionist Outreach Officer for Sebastian Ernst Ronin's (see post immediately below for more on Ronin) white supremacist Renaissance Party of North America, according to this post at Preston's website:
Mr. Ronin is the Chairman of the Renaissance Party of  North America (RPN), for which I am the Secessionist Outreach officer.  This is a brand new party, having been formed only in December of 2009, and it is the only political party in North America that I would even consider becoming involved with at present.  The party’s mission statement and philosophical outlook is light years ahead of any of its competitors, as it combines syndicalist/distributist economics, radical decentralization, “archeofuturism” and other ENR-inspired ideas, anti-globalism, peak oil theory, anti-Cultural Marxism, anti-political correctness, anti-imperialism, a Spenglerian view of history, pan-secessionism, race-realism, a strident yet reasonable environmentalism, a social conservatism that is measured and libertarian, neo-paganism within a wider spirit of religious toleration, and criticism of mass immigration in the name of civilizational survival and self-preservation.  In other words, all of the best and most far-sighted contemporary ideas are being pulled together into a unified and syncretic whole.
Not many people know that; fewer still care about these assholes.  These Naylor mourners are typical of his scumbag followers.
Readers of this blog may also recall that I'd posted about how Naylor had conspired with a Canadian fascist, Sebastian Ernst Ronin, to establish a white, racist homeland in northern New England and the Canadian Maritime provinces. As noted above by Keith Preston himself, Preston was a part of this failed conspiracy but by which he cemented his reputation as a white separatist, anti-Semite and all around scumbag. Here's that post:
Before His Death Thomas H. Naylor Collaborated in a Proposal to Create a White Homeland in Vermont
Thursday, December 20, 2012

Thomas H. Naylor, founder of the unsuccessful attempt to secede from the Union called the Second Vermont Republic, had a long history of cozying up to racists, Holocaust deniers, anti-Semites, secessionists and white separatists.

What is not so well known was his involvement with a Canadian racist and anti-Semite, Sebastian Ernst Ronin, and of their plan to make Vermont part of a "White Homeland." Ronin, much as Naylor was on the American and Vermont political scene, is an extremist nobody on the Canadian political landscape.

I'd first noted Naylor's ties to the "New Acadia" or "Novacadia" proposal that a new confederation be formed from upper New York state, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and the Canadian Maritime provinces after an appearance he'd made in June, 2007 on FOX TV's Bill O'Reilly dreck here.

Naylor then began to conspire with Ronin, who was well known even then as a Canadian racist, in April of 2008 to create this new confederation of New England states and Canadian provinces, according to Ronin. Naylor wrote about these discussions concerning the new confederation here, and even urged that Vermonters contact this Canadian racist pig.

Hell, they'd even made a map of the White (10), Native (3), Hispanic and Black (New Ebony? Really?) Homelands.

They never (particularly in Naylor's case) got around to making clear how the relocations might have been accom- plished, but given Ronin's fondness for WWII Nazis and Naylor's hatred for the State of Israel, I'm sure that there was some sort of operational "final solution" that they had in mind.

In his tribute to Naylor this week, Ronin referred once again to their plans for a White Homeland in Vermont that can be found here. Ronin wrote (and it was never declaimed by Naylor):
"Novacadia:captures the three Maritime provinces of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick, and the three New England states of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, and part of northern New York; Second Vermont Republic in place and Novacadia Independence Party pending; this is new nation #4 that defies an international boundary; White Homeland Six"

Ronin's piece makes explicit that they'd brook no dissent from the blacks, the browns, the natives and the Jewy types.
"The designations of Native, Negro and Mestizo homelands does not mean that we have to make either the RVI or RPN friendly to Native, Negro or Hispanic input, although some may be inevitable as per federal legislation (witness the example of the British National Party); it simply means that we retain our political position to speak on behalf of Whites and negotiate on their behalf, but within a political context that recognizes all other continental ethnic/racial players, except for Zionist Jews and non-Jews."
What wasn't clear is how they'd deal with the fags, although subsequent to the enactment of the Civil Unions law in Vermont, Naylor had said that'd still be up for re-discussion in his SVReich.

One of Naylor's toadys, Rob Williams, recently described Naylor to the press as being "irascible." If Williams were being honest, he'd have described Thomas Naylor as a lying, hateful, insane prick. Clearly, from what we know of Naylor's expulsions of the insufficiently obsequient secesher drones and his condemnations of the vast majority of Vermonters (99%+) failure bow to his every dictum, Naylor would have become, like similarly deranged autocrats, more than a tyrant in Vermont, Novacadia or whatever other fictional principality/republic that he sought to create out of nothing.

Despite their professed regrets regarding his passing at his memorial service today in Charlotte, VT, no one in their right mind will possibly miss the crap that he's done in the furtherance of his secesher, racist, anti-Semitic vision for Vermont. Real Vermonters will have no trouble putting Naylor out of their thoughts - forever.
And much like Thomas Naylor and Rob Williams, Preston's antipathy to the civil rights organization who's brought so much financial pain to Preston's butt buddies in the neo-Nazi movement and the Klan, the Southern Poverty Law Center:
"In other words, the SPLC and others of their ilk are our mortal enemies, and should be given no recognition whatsoever. To recognize them, to attempt to rebut or accommodate them, is to grant them legitimacy. We should treat them as we would treat an enemy army during wartime."
Source
Normally, one would try to kill the "enemy army during wartime," but I don't want or need to put words into Preston's pudgy mouth. He does himself in.

Absent from Naylor, Ronin or Preston's scheme to create a white homeland is any pretense for an electoral process. Idiots though they all are, none were so deluded to believe that the public would support such a hate based scheme. I have little doubt that Preston's supporters will find the jewel in this shitpile of an idea. Fortunately, the reality based public will see it for what it is - a hate based political entity with no chance of coming to fruition, ever.

You can read much more of a self-produced compendium by Preston, a rotund, crypto-fascist, segregationist, anti-Semitic, homophobic scumbag if the ever was one, whose ongoing love affair with the Vermont seceshers touchstones, tropes and obsessions is here

UPDATE 5/23/14 5:45 PM: Keith Preston was interviewed today on the Thomas Woods Show. Thomas Woods is a founder of the League of the South and sympathizer for the poor, poor Southron slavers who were so, so oppressed by 19th century anti-abolishionists. Yuck!

A Secessionist Neo-Nazi Calls Rob Williams Hate Site a Place of "Friends and Fellow Secessionists"

While doing some research connected to the topic in the previous post, "Secession Alliances and Cross Pollination," I came across one of the connections that shows how close those ties can be in the minds of seceshers.

The website operated by a League of the South member with past ties to the largely defunct neo-Nazi group called the National Alliance (a group that has "produced assassins, bombers and bank robbers, among other things"; membership #C0127), Michael Cushman's Southern Nationalist Network, has a post by Cushman from a little over a year and a half ago where he writes,
"Our friends and fellow secessionists in Vermont have posted an excellent poem with which many Southern nationalists will surely identify. Below is one part that stands out as being particularly relevant in this age when US hegemony stretches far and wide and crushes all that is unique beneath its bland boot of universalism..." Source
Right. Unique like neo-Nazism. What follows in Cushman's post is an excerpt from a now dead link to the now out of commission secesher publication once published by - wait for it - Rob Williams. (For any newcomers to this blog, you can learn more about 9/11 Truther Williams' anti-Semitism and his cavalier attitude towards the racism of his secesher allies here and here.). The poem is such dreck that I can't bring myself post any of it, not even the excerpt, by a Kentucky secesher named Wendell Berry. Williams is so taken by Berry's lyric flotsam that it found its way into Wiiliams' anthology rehash of things once published in his bygone rag. What Williams didn't include was some of the racist writers and bloggers that have contributed to his hate site and wood stove paper kindling supply (that I missed so much this winter), like UVM's white supremacist prof, Robert S. Griffin[1] [2], frothing anti-Semites like Thomas H. Naylor, Dennis "Hit List" Morrisseau, Carol "Jew Loather" Moore, or anti-race mixing contributor to Dennis Steele's utterly failed secesher gubernatorial candidacy, James Duncan. [1] [2]Williams' book has an Amazon Best Sellers rank of #770,243 - heh.

Rob Williams' Second Vermont Republic Hate Blogger Dennis Morrisseau Engages in a Little Old Fashioned Jew Baiting

Pawlet, VT's Dennis "Hit List" Morrisseau, a longtime friend to the still dead secessionist leader Thomas H. Naylor (you may remember him for his plot to create a white homeland in northern New England and the Canadian Maritime provinces, and for his alliances with southern white supremacists at the League of the South) and also a friend to the failed secesher Vermont Senate candidate from Ripton, VT, Robert "Needed Killin' " Wagner, who's issued a "news release" last weekend that reeks of blatant Jew-baiting.

Morrisseau's ALL CAPS riddled rant, which you'll find reprinted at the bottom of this post, singles out a Jew, who sits on no US Senate committee with a any pull in foreign affairs, for not having spoken out about, well, it's not entirely clear what Denny would have U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders speak out about given the incoherency of the "communique" from Denny's Morrisseau World Newsservice, which doesn't have a website but is, rather, an irregular email blast to a long list of people who never use his crap. Content of the emails depends more on Denny's then state of mind than on anything that would normally be considered news. Denny's always on the watch for Semitic contagion, particularly in governance. Here's the money quote for his latest unhinged missive:

"WHO is it really that is pushing this crap on Ukraine? WHO are the actual people behind all this? Do they have Jewish names by any chance? Do you know? Do you even know?"
That's the sort of list making "news commentary" one would associate with neo-Nazi websites like Stormfront.org or the deeply anti-Semitic Veterans Today where Denny likes to post some of his seething commentary. I give you Denny's entire email; don't forget to wash up when you're done.

"I HAVE NOT HEARD HIM SAY ONE SINGLE WORD, HAVE YOU?

Why is that, do you know? There is this huge, overwhelming, dangerous, pile of horseshit, pile of crap, that the present US "leadership" and US media clowns are trying sooooo hard to shove down our throats in Ukraine, and that is being shoved down the throats of ordinary Ukrainians too--believe me, and if you don't, then just watch carefully for awhile--watch this whole orchestrated and very very dangerous LIE being pushed by "ourselves in Ukraine [and in Iraq, Iran, Syria, Venezuela and god knows where else--here at home too for Chrissake......[and WHO is it really that is pushing this crap on Ukraine? WHO are the actual people behind all this? Do they have Jewish names by any chance? Do you know? Do you even know? Are they Neocons, do you know?]

And we have not heard one single word about any of this from the NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES....FROM THE GREAT & so SMART [little] STATE OF CLEAN & GREEN VERMONT....YES.....BERNAAAAAARD SANDERS!!!! Ta Da!

Not one word......so far.........from your favorite Bigmouth.

Capice?

Is Bernie really a Neocon [or NeoLib--have it your way] UNDERCOVER ?

Are WE now serving as Bernie's cover?

Do you--really?-- Understand?

Dennis Morrisseau 2LT USArmy [Armor] ret Lieutenant Morrisseau's Rebellion FireCongress.org POB 177, W. Pawlet, VT 05775 dmorso1@netzero.net 802 645 9727"
Dennis Morrisseau, a disgraced and cashiered Vietnam era Army "officer" who dodged active duty (but he has always been about the benies), still crazy after all these years. Unsurprisingly, Denny is a "veteran" blogger at Rob Williams' anti-Semitic hate blog. I am so looking forward to what seems to be Denny's 2014 run for the Vermont Senate if his website header is to believed.

A Look Back at Yet Another Year of Misses, Missteps and the Mistakes of Vermont's Foundering Secession Movement

Two years ago today the screwballs of the Vermont secessionist clowncar announced their opening salvo of a Takeover Vermont movement - they were "amassing" candidates to occupy the entire Senate of the Vermont Statehouse, step into the governor's and lieutenant governor's office, along with a fistful of House seats. History will note that none of their candidate's came even remotely close to anything more than a piddling showing in any race. Perhaps that was because two months before the 2012 election I'd exposed their super-secret listserv where they waxed poet about their love for antiSemitic, misogynistic, racist and homophobic tropes, as well as their contempt for Vermonters who they believed to be gullible. Fortunately, those same Vermonters didn't fall for the crap that the seceshers were passing out. So I thought that today might be a good day to look back at the year that followed the 2012 debacle, 2013.

Last year at this time Vermonters throughout the state were breathing a collective sigh of relief that the decade long attempt to establish a dictatorship of the seceshatariat and associated argle-bargle had come to an abrupt end with the passing of the Magnolia Vermonter, Thomas H. Naylor, who was by any reasonable estimate a racist and Jew hater. Gone too is his dream for a do-over on women's reproductive rights and marriage equality. My criminy, if only he'd lived long enough to troll Duck Dynasty rednecks who're into making duck sounds on dick-like instruments with other duck dudes while disparaging gays, blacks and other non-Christopsychos, who knows how much he might have seceded, er, succeeded into making this a world more appreciable of other neo-Confederate "scholars" like his longtime butt-buddy Kirkpatrick Sale. We can all remember when Second Vermont Republic co-founder Sale said of the state Israel that it could be "unmade." Nothing could speak to the delusions of these secesher clowns more than that kind of looney ideation about the end of the Jews once and for all... a final solution proposed by the very core of the leadership of the SVR.

In 2013 the hoopleheads at the hate website Vermont Commons still ground out misinformation and the latest anti-Semitic, conspiracist garbage but not at anywhere near the same rate as they had in the past. The promise to have a new print junk journal resuscitated for 2013 turned out to be more pure secesher bullshit. Rob Williams, who presides as the top mouth breather at the VTCommons hate blog, idiotsplains to everyone who doesn't see him coming but realizes that would have been a good idea once he gets into his wet-dream shtick about "the emerging Vermont independence movement" that they're going to prevail, that's despite getting no one elected and no legislator to announce support for their fantasy. Ain't. Ever. Gonna. Happen. Rob. And that's no matter how many bumper stickers (that people throw away once they get clued into the racism, anti-Semitism and other forms of hate that comes with it) and useless commentaries and Facebook posts that Rob, Matt Cropp, Juliet Buck and the other tiny group of bedwetters plaster onto the Internets. Vermonters won't forget Williams' role as the then vice chairman of Second Vermont Republic in bringing neo-Confederate racists and segregationists to our state to arouse a secesher dream of division and exclusion. The KKK inspired and slavery loving group that Williams thought so much of that he had them on the SVR advisory board was the infamous League of the South, a group he has yet to denounce although only a bit more than a year ago he claimed to have put an end to the criticism of his group for having sought to affiliate with racists. (How's that going, Rob?) Like the neo-Confederate wing of the hate based secesher movement, Williams' hate blog will no doubt keep chugging along promoting attacks on Israel, Jewish "international bankers", the Vermont legislature, rule of law, etc. in its usual ineffectual way.

Vermont secession theology, like most faith based ideologies and theologies, has a well developed eschatological component. The world as we know it is going down (peak oil, peak fracking, peak F-35s, you name it) and there's only one way to escape the horrors and that's through the secesher rapture (Now where have I heard that before?). Tie that with their confiscatory economic theories that promote the largest grab of private property since the Stalin era and you can get a sense of why their political campaigns have been so, like, totes failed.

VTCommons contributors were able to maintain their reputation as being invariably late to the media party, such as when Gaelan Brown, the renown VTC house derp, who wrote about the compost sales tax debacle six months after it had been covered much more responsibly and professionally by Vermont's print and electronic media. Brown failed to disclose his own bottom line interest in the composting industry in his piece for VTCommons', uh, journal hate blog, a huge journalistic no-no. Me wonders how his conspiracist exposé of the collusion between the U.S. military and space aliens over extraction mineral resources from the dark side of the Moon in exchange for advanced alien military technology is going - oh, and don't forget the hidden truth about aircraft contrails that Brown has the scoop on since that's bigger than the Snowden disclosures (except for the difference that Snowden's dealing with, like, facts and truth, and not the attenuated sort of truth churned out by Teh Secesher Crheyzies!).

2013 entertained no new secesher conventions such as the small nations thing that was to be funded by some bored prince that Naylor and the mini-Naylor, Rob Williams had been sucking up to, nor has any secesher made a meaningful announcement to run for office in 2014 - heck, for their 2012 run debacle they wouldn't shut up even when they had no right to speak, so why are they so silent now? No Jim Hogue "Ethan Allen" drag shows that I noticed. Not even a peep for months from the not-so "Senator" Robert "Needed Killin' " Wagner despite his still having an inactive 2014 campaign website of sorts. Speaking of never-gonna-be senators, I've been following the random, mostly just for nothing Denny "Hit List" Morrisseau comments which read more like deranged outbursts as he derps the net and should give'em a mention but I've misplaced my Morriseau-to-English dictionary and without that they still don't make sense. Suffice it to say that, aside from Naylor himself, Morrisseau, who describes himself as "The Very Foreign Minister of SVR but is more aptly the "impacted bowel" of SVR, is possibly the most staggeringly anti-Semitic passenger of the Vermont secesher crazy train. You can read about his proposed "hit list" for Jews here.

The death of Naylor, the longtime and apparently only Vermont secesher sugar daddy, spelled the end to the gravy train of show conventions and videos attended by tens of people (mostly out-of-staters and sometimes not even that many/few) over the years. One could even speculate that the unseemly association with a group and an e-"publication" that has long term ties to racists, homophobes and anti-Semites in its past and present "issues" led to the departure this summer of one sham radical from a frontline position in the leadership of the minuscule anti-Vermont National Guard group (or as they like to frame themselves, the anti-F-35 movement) or maybe she just got tired of holding the reins on stoopid.

Profoundly failed 2012 gubernatorial wannabe (99.24% of Vermonters all voted for someone else), Dennis Steele, managed to finally snag an interview in 2013 where he mentioned America but not a secesher Vermont while promoting an addictive product that the CDC has been found to contain substances harmful to humans, including carcinogens. Steele even asserts, without presenting any evidence whatsoever that,
"there are a growing number of people who are moving from cigarettes to electronic cigarettes..."
But as the American Cancer Society has noted,
"(while) e-cigarettes have not been shown to be effective tobacco cessation tools and are not FDA approved, some distributors are marketing them for smoking cessation."
Nice going with the new craptacular project, Dennis. Given that New Hampshire has banned them and that New York is well on its way to doing so and that Vermont isn't likely to continue to allow them, you've certainly seemed to have latched onto another big loser. Perhaps you'd have saved something of what's left of your reputation if you'd just taken some more money from out-of-state racists, misogynists and homophobes and had not climbed aboard the poisonous gravytrain of Big Nicotine.

Anti-Semitic "journalism" continued to be a niche product among many VTCommons contributors throughout 2013 including a tasty bit of Rothschild-Federal Reserve conspiracism late last year that cites as a source a video favorite of the head bangers that congregate at Holocaust denial raves. In an apparent end of year attempt to seize the low ground in foisting anti-Semites into the Vermont discussion of, you know, The Jew, VTCommons has highlighted the work of Robert K. Moore, a noted anti-Semite and writer for the Canadian Holocaust Denial work in progress, Michel Chossudovsky’s Global Research hate site.
"As overseer of the anti-U.S., anti-globalization website GlobalResearch, Chossudovsky has manufactured a long list of eyebrow-raising accusations that often read more like wild-eyed conspiracy theories than serious political discourse: the U.S. had foreknowledge of the 9/11 attacks ("Of course they knew!"); "Washington's New World Order weapons have the ability to trigger climate change"; the U.S. knew in advance about the December 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, but kept it to themselves (apparently so they could ride to the rescue of devastated coastal regions); big banking orchestrates the collapse of national economies. Of course, all that talk of banking conspiracies can lead one into some bigoted territory. B'nai Brith Canada has complained to the University of Ottawa about anti-Semitic postings on Chossudovsky's site." Source
You know, the Jews, such complainers. So what's their problem, anyway?

Robert K. Moore, an aficionado of drunk culture, seethes Jew hatred in that uniquely 21st century fashion that talks about The Jew without saying the word Jew, "but we all know who we're talking about" kinda way. You know, Rothschilds, Tri-Lateral Commission, architects of the Federal Reserve, the money masters, blada-blada-blada, sorta like wearing a transparent jockstrap for the huge wood he harbors for world Jewry. He also posts his garbage at the vehemently anti-Semitic website of Pater Meyer's called, oddly, Serendipity.
"I regard Judaism as, among all religions, the least worthy of admiration," Peter Meyer, 2004
Similarly, in 2012 when the secesher brain trust was bursting onto the senator/guv campaign scene they connived on their super-secret campaign listserv where they waxed fondly about their similar feelings about world Jewry. There they'd been charmed by their largest out-of-state contributor who happened to be a regular then at the neo-Nazi Stormfront.org website. Williams had cautioned the head of the ticket, Dennis Steele, about sounding as whacked out on the topic as their VTfuhrer, Thomas Naylor, but with little success.

Sadly, VTCommons house anti-Semite, grande dame Carol "Shit-fer-brains" Moore has drifted from her once primary role as the ardent, incessant Jew hater and segregation proponent at VTCommons and at her blog into merely lamenting her Medicare eligible physical form (target weight: 180 lbs!) that's rendered, according to her, her slinky black leotards a mere figment of her imagined past. Maybe in this moment of self revelation she'll finally come clean about the tale that she tells about "choosing" to live in a minority neighborhood because she's, you know, so-o-o committed to whatever the fuck it is that she's up to at the moment - it's really just a marginal area investment property duplex owned by a Maryland Libertarian Party cohort of hers who no likely feels sorry for her tired ass. Oh, and did she ever find a taker for her role as cook for whatever loser would be willing to hump her ass and play the docile, self loathing male that she advertised for on her blog a year or so ago? Sad, Carol, really sad.

This past year also gave us the duplicitous spectacle of VTCommons hate blog publisher Rob Williams showing his contempt for the public by crowd sourcing the promotion of a mobile Yak BBQ food cart without ever telling the potential suckers that he'd put his yak herd/ranch on the market four or so months earlier. Didn't he think that sort of disclosure, as in like transparency, was necessary for the marks to really make an informed investment decision, huh? Must be making Champlain College proud of Perfesser Williams, no? That's just the sort of sleazy practice that makes it harder for legitimate kickstarters but, hey, WTF? The kids gotta learn. Heh... And as if to show how unconcerned he is about having provided a hate platform for years at VTCommons, from one of its very earliest issues for the likes of UVM's white supremacist professor Robert S. Griffin, convicted felon & racist LoS Board of Directors member Franklin Sanders to today's stable of anti-Semites, Williams proudly points to his role as publisher of the hate blog on his Champlain College bio. Don't go looking for Griffin's white supremacist essay from VTC issue #2 or Rob's own cheerleader-like hummer for Lincoln hater, white supremacist and LewRockwell.com nutter Thomas DiLorenzo in VTC issue #3 since they've been scrubbed. More intellectual transparency from Champlain College's own inhouse anti-Semite, Herr Doktor Rob Williams.

Looks like the Vermont seceshers won't be crowing, "We winned!" any year soon. Rumor has it that they may be lowering the 2014 "achievement" bar to adopt steal a salute (just like they tried to steal the Vermont National Guard's Green Mountain Boys flag) from the French anti-Semitic, Holocaust denying comedienne Dieudonné called "La Quenelle", "a gesture which involves touching the right upper arm with the left hand whilst keeping the right arm pointed downwards," also called the "reverse Nazi salute." I can almost see the 2014 secesher alumni photo being taken in front of the Vermont Statehouse - not quite enough people to make up a full calendar but with the entire group saluting in a manner that points to the ground in both a symbolic gesture acknowledging the passing of the baas, the Dixie singin' Thomas Naylor, and the death of their movement. I'm sure that the French bigot Dieudonné won't mind and might even welcome the appropriation from a companion anti-Semitic organization. Then the tiny group could do a statewide tour of synagogue's and take selfies of their doing the salute in front of such places - it's all the rage among anti-Semites these days.

The Second Vermont Republic: Vermont's own Y2K but with even less impact. 2014 should prove to be even less impressive as Williams (sans Naylor) continues to shake his fist impotently at Vermonters, the state legislators, statewide office holders, the congressional delegation and passing cars. Rumor also has it that Rob "The Champlain College Media Internets Expert" Williams has been doing a makeover/re-boot of his hate blog at VTCommons; it's pretty much the same ol'turgid, conspiratard nonsense (like the Boston bombing was a "false flag" operation) and anti-Semitism that the site is noted for with some of Naylor's vintage, sage/suckest mind farts cut and pasted on because there's nothing like re-worked failure to keep a website on life support. No doubt that the teevees rollout of the fifth season of Duck Dynasty is on the secesher "must watch" list for tonight. I'll keep you posted.

Anti-Semistism? Racism? Thomas Naylor Made It A Convoluted Twofer As He Trotted Out His Anti-Obama, Anti-America Dog and Pony Act for Iran's Propoganda Service in the Wake of the 2012 Election

Much as Saturday Night Live did in the fall of 1975 regarding the death of Generalissimo Francisco Franco, I can confidently report that the baas of the Second Vermont Republic and Charlotte, VT washashore, Thomas H. Naylor, "is still dead... but he's feeling better every day."

Late last year I'd mentioned that the Vermont secession movement was maintaining it's embrace of anti-Semitic, Holocaust denying elements at home and abroad, whether that be by promoting the notion that Israel is a criminal enterprise (the "Israeli Mafia" meme has been advanced by Naylor and his gubernatorial stooge, Dennis Steele, and "agree(d)" with by Naylor's heir apparent and former Second Vermont Republic (SVR) co-chair, Rob Williams) or that Israel can be "undone" (SVR co-founder and now a South Carolina delegate to the racist Southern National Congress) or that as one secesher leader (SVR's self-described "Very Foreign Minister" and decades long losing, as in usually running last, congressional and Vermont legislative candidate, Dennis Morrisseau) has recommended that there should be a hit list of prominent Jews or one member of the small, super secret nest of seditious Vermont secesher plotters of the group exposed by this blog just before the 2010 election who'd posted many, many times at the neo-Nazi messageboard of Stormfront.org (White Pride Worlwide!) using the nom de Nazi, "Donnachaidh" or making a number of appearances on the racist, anti-Semitic, virulently homophobic, misogynistic and Holocaust denying Political Cesspool (Naylor & Sale) or Naylor's own numerous appearances on the anti-Semitic, Holocaust denying, anti-American website of the Iranian Ministry of Propaganda, er, "Information" called Press TV - well, you get the idea.

In October of 2012, less than a week before the general election, Naylor, sensing as almost anyone did whose last name wasn't Romney, Rove, Morris or Gingrich (as well as not being a Faux News clone) that President Obama was poised to get a second term, took the occasion to dip his toe once again into the barely concealed racism pool so much a part of the secessionist movement, even in Vermont, and in another of his tiresome, self-important essays, Naylor engaged in his usual anti-Semitic dog whistling and inferences of Jewish domination of the world and U.S. foreign policy.  Interestingly, in the second piece by baas Naylor, the supposed man of peace, he makes an argument of sorts for further nuclear proliferation:
"Israel maintains almost vice-like control over U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East.  It tells Washington what it wants and, give or take a bit of face-saving waffling, usually gets what it wants.  It actively supported the war on terror against Muslims, two wars against Iraq, and the NATO attack on Libya.  And since Israel is the “exceptional” nation in the Middle East only it is entitled to have nuclear weapons, and Iran’s alleged nuclear weapons project must be taken out."
Okay, that Naylor is a Jew-baiting anti-Semite is a given (more on that below in the stuff I've got on his most recent appearance with the Iranian propaganda douchebags at their Holocaust denying website, PressTV), but in his first screed Naylor clutched at an obscure remark about President Obama being "cool" and constructed an attack that ended with:
"Above all, what Obama was about was being “cool.”  And it worked in spades."
"Spades?"  Really, Tommy?  Couldn't he have summoned up a little more resistance to his moth-like attraction to the flame of racially loaded double entendres?  Maybe it was because for too many years he palled around with his friends at the racist League of the South and at the Southern National Congress where he liked to sing Dixie?

The dust had hardly settled on one of Naylor's last remaining politically wishful Vermont secessionist boneheads, Senator Robert "Needed Killin' " Wagner's disastrous last place showing in the 2012 Addison County senate election, when up pops another interview that Naylor did for the genocidal, Holocaust denying folks at Iranian's Propaganda Ministry's online "news service" Press TV. Naturally it contains references to Naylor's racist Obama screed and his usual anti-Semitic dog whistles, a staple for the folks at the Holocaust denying Press TV, including the their mutual anti-Semitic mainstay about the illegitimacy of the State of Israel concluded with what Naylor had to know is a racially charged statement, especially with Naylor's past race-laced writings and his long history of cozying up to racist groups like the League of the South and the Southern National Congress, both directly and through his association (Naylor's big on guilt by association) with SNC delegate and SVR co-founder with Naylor, Kirkpatrick Sale.

'Course, if the Press TV propaganda vid doen't open, use this link: http://www.presstv.com/usdetail/271010.html

It is interesting that after all the years of my pointing it out that the "crack" propagandists at Press TV haven't figured out that the skyline of Charlotte, NC has nothing to do with Charlotte, VT, Naylor's former residence. Maybe some of his ashes will get sprinkled there on his way back to his beloved state of Mississippi. And I doubt the Iranian hate scrum will pick up on the pronunciation differences.

"I am cool, and I know that you know that I am cool", says Thomas H. Naylor, founder of Second Vermont Republic about Obama's public persona. Naylor thinks that Obama lacks a "vision of the future".
In a phone interview with Press TV's U.S. Desk on Wednesday, Naylor said, "He would speak of a jobs program throughout the campaigns but the reality was that he had no jobs program. The United States does not have a coherent foreign policy; it has four different foreign policies. One for the middle-east, one for China and Russia, one for the NATO allies, and one for the rest of the world ... There is really no glue that holds the Obama administration together other than a kind of notion of what's above all, the most important thing is for Obama to appear to be cool."

Obama, 51, faces governing in a deeply divided country and a partisan-rich capital, where Republicans retained their majority in the House and Democrats kept their control of the Senate. His re-election offers him a second chance that will quickly be tested, given the rapidly escalating fiscal showdown as indiatimes.com reports.
Naylor's longtime relationship with the genocidal maniacs at the Iran Propaganda Ministry's outlet Press TV puts the lie to his commitment to secession when you factor in that the Iranian regime has murdered more than 10,000 Kurdish separatists in Iran, not to mention displacing (as in rendering homeless) 200,000 "Iranian" Kurds.
