I've Received a Request for Recognition on the "Neo-Confederate, neo-Nazi..." Blogroll

I don't normally get, hell, I've never gotten, requests to be included on the blogroll in the right column that I label "neo-Confederate, neo-Nazi, Paleoconservative, Racist, White Separatist, anti-Government Sovereignty Activists and Related Links, as well as Their Enablers and Supporters" except for one last month from a blogger who goes by the username RVDH.

RVDH is some kind of virulently anti-American, anti-Semitic, "pan-anarchist, pan-secessionist" type who has huge wood for Thomas H. Naylor.

Once again, I kinda get ahead of myself.

You see, RVDH took lotsa umbrage with this post of mine and wrote this about the Vermont Secession blog,
"This guy really hates the Second Vermont Republic but you have to wonder why he keeps writing about Vermont secessionists even though no one seems to leave comments on any of his posts… Let’s give his some site traffic and maybe he’ll be kind enough to add Attack the System to his “neo-Confederate, neo-Nazi, Paleoconservative, Racist, White Separatist, anti-Government, Sovereignty Activists, and Related Links, as well as Their Enablers and Supporters” blogroll section."

Source
Here's the thing; RVDH is one of a stable of hateful demi-misanthropes that opine at what is more of an aggregator website rather than one that provides original material, except about its "leader," a self-promoting e-anarchist by the name of Michael Preston.  The website is called Attack the System. Pretty much nothing to get excited about unless you're a "pan-anarchist, pan-secessionist," self stroker.

What surprised me is that RVDH didn't ask that I include his own blog, occupysecession.com, on my “neo-Confederate, neo-Nazi, Paleoconservative, Racist, White Separatist, anti-Government, Sovereignty Activists, and Related Links, as well as Their Enablers and Supporters” blogroll.

So here's the deal; I'm not going along with RVDH's request. For one, he hasn't followed my blog long enough to know that I rarely approve the comments that I get from seceshers since I can track them back to secesher websites - they've got their own platform and I'm not giving them another megaphone for their hatred. The other primary source of my comments are from tips about seceshers and I always ask for further permission before approving the comments, which invariably ends up with, "Nah, go for it."

But what's really interesting is that at RVDH's own website at occupysession.com the only comment that I can find that isn't a ping is from that flailing, ineffectual, white nationalist, secessionist, neo-Nazi bonehead, Sebastion Ernst Ronin, leader of the racist Renaissance Party of North America and secessionist associate of Thomas Naylor and Kirkpatrick Sale - they may disagree about the details but the results of their efforts are all in support of white nationalist secessionist states. Ronin's one word comment was, "Bravo!" Of course, RVDH's post was a reprint from the anti-Semitic, anti-gay (although possibly of the self-loathing sort), well known Holocaust denier, Victor Thorn.

Fact is that both websites are havens for bloggers who specialize in racist, anti-Semitic news aggregation.  When I say anti-Semitic, I'm not alluding to some vague, amorphous "they just disagree with Israeli policy" crap.  I'm referring to what is best outlined in the working definition of anti-Semitism published by the European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia, now Fundamental Rights Agency:
"It provides contemporary examples of antisemitism, which include: promoting the harming of Jews in the name of an ideology or religion; promoting negative stereotypes of Jews; holding Jews collectively responsible for the actions of an individual Jewish person or group; denying the Holocaust or accusing Jews or Israel of exaggerating it; and accusing Jews of dual loyalty or a greater allegiance to Israel than their own country."

"It also states that ‘Examples of the ways in which antisemitism manifests itself with regard to the State of Israel taking into account the overall context could include:"
  • Denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination, e.g., by claiming that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavor.
  • Applying double standards by requiring of it a behavior not expected or demanded of any other democratic nation.
  • Using the symbols and images associated with classic antisemitism (e.g., claims of Jews killing Jesus or blood libel) to characterize Israel or Israelis.
  • Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.
  • Holding Jews collectively responsible for actions of the state of Israel.
Therefore, in consideration of Ronald, er, RVDH's request, I'm going to tack on occupysecession.com to my “neo-Confederate, neo-Nazi, Paleoconservative, Racist, White Separatist, anti-Government, Sovereignty Activists, and Related Links, as well as Their Enablers and Supporters” blogroll.

And let me add,

(French version here.)

So please, don't stay in touch, RVDH. You may not be happy with the result.

My Yom Kippur Message for Thomas Naylor

As the High Holy Days - Yamim Nora'im - draw to a close, I thought that today, Erev Yom Kippur, the eve of the Day of Atonement, might be the time to suggest that Thomas H. Naylor, the would be leader of the fast fading Vermont secession movement, make amends for the many tsuris that he's committed against the Jewish people and real Vermonters - bein adam lechavero - this year. He's really been kind of a dick.

Honestly, Thomas, given the way that you've been misbehaving - dissing old friends; trashing the 99% of Vermonters who see no value in your fantasy of a New World Order via a Second Vermont Republic;
openly and arrogantly consorting with genocidal Holocaust deniers; repeating the oldest of anti-Semitic canards, that Jews control the U.S. government and media - has alienated you from virtually every Vermonter, including what few allies that you had left here, so perhaps taking a moment today to reach out to someone here in Vermont, anyone really, to admit to the offensiveness of your behavior and to ask for forgiveness might be a way for you to make a fresh start.

As a secular secessionist, you can probably skip the prayers and fasting for this one. A simple, "I've fucked up and I'm really, really sorry" would do, or perhaps just a sincere kaparos.

Thomas H. Naylor Does Yet Another Interview With A Holocaust Denying "News" Service

Fresh from his betrayal of a longtime friend, Thomas H. Naylor has done another of his infamous interviews with Iran's state run English news service, Press TV. Press TV is the Iranian propaganda outlet for the Mahmoud Ahmadinejad regime. It promotes Holocaust denial, 9/11 Truther conspiracy junk theories and what Iran's top military leader, Major General Hassan Firouzabadi's said in a recent speech that “The Iranian nation is standing for its cause and that is the full annihilation of Israel.” (May 20, 2012)

Press TV uses a stable of anti-American and anti-Semitic "experts", of whom Naylor is one, who gladly do dog and pony interviews in support of the regime's meme-of-the-day. Many, like Naylor, claim to be for peace but see nothing odd in serving as mouthpieces for a genocidal regime, one of whose wars, initiated by Iran, was one of the longest in the 20th century and led to more than a million dead. Yesterday's meme was that there are only "minor differences" between President Obama and Governor Romney, and that's a point of view that no rational person buys into. In Naylor's view, warped by his long involvement with the fringers in the Second Vermont Republic and the racist apparatchiks in the League of the South:
“There are minor differences between Obama and Romney on some of the social issues. On the serious issues of foreign policy, on control which Wall Street and Corporate America yields over the U.S. government and over the U.S. Congress there is no difference whatsoever...”
“Romney is no different in terms of foreign policy, they both seem to be equally hostile towards Iran..."
Thomas H. Naylor for Press TV

Either Naylor's given up reading newspapers, as he has the Internet, or he's willfully misstating the factual situation regarding the candidates substantial differences on Israel, taxes, healthcare, foreign policy stances and diplomacy, immigration, Medicare and Medicaid, redistribution of wealth to the 1%, and, yes, Iran. And then there are the civil rights issues like gay marriage and the more than 1,000 tax disparities between gay and straight couples that Naylor so cavalierly dismisses as "minor" since he's got his; Obama supports marriage equality, Romney will not - that's not a minor difference if you're the one being discriminated against.

Note that Press TV's crack graphics production staff idiots are still using a Charlotte, NC skyline background pic for Charlotte, VT resident, Naylor. I'd love to hear their pronunciation.

Thomas H. Naylor Sticks A Shiv Into A Longtime Ally

Over the past five years and nine months I've seen Thomas Naylor do some pretty despicable things - repeatedly consorting with racists, Holocaust deniers and like minded anti-Semites. Obviously, this has always been a path that he'd like for Vermonters to join him on.

He has repeatedly denounced the vast majority of Vermonters - the more than 99% of Vermonters who'd voted for someone other than his handpicked candidate for governor; the Vermont National Guard; virtually every statewide elected official that he's written about on his website; all of Vermont's congressional delegation; Vermont's clergy & churches, including his own in Charlotte; Vermont's non-profits who do more in a single afternoon for Vermonters than Naylor's ever done in his whole miserable life; Vermont's schools and institutions of higher education; the Vermont Occupy movement (except for his toadying embed, the notably ineffectual Matt Cropp), anti-war activists (except for the frothing ragers like his also unsuccessful handpicked candidate for Lt. guv, Peter Garritano and the chronically pissed off, sham radical Juliet Buck), the entire environmental community, and anyone else who doesn't get serious wood when they hear the word "secession."

But again, I'm getting ahead of myself.

I'd thought that with my last post about the significantly poor showing at Naylor's repetitively contrived, yet-one-more-time Secesher Statehouse Stunt last Friday on behalf of his foundering Second Vermont Republic, that I was done with the prattling old fool.

Nuh-uh. Yesterday I opened the old email inbox to find another of Naylor's tedious, deranged screeds. He titled it, "La-La Land Liberalism in Vermont and Elsewhere."

You see, Vermont's problem is that it's too liberal; it's agenda is too liberal; and he's identified the sources of the problem which he takes great care to enumerate in his bad-tempered piece.

In a harangue that only omits the usual conservative complaint about "latte drinking, sushi eating, Volvo driving, New York Times reading" liberals, Naylor identifies the "six factors which have contributed to the demise of Vermont liberalism" in his estimation:

1. Senator Bernie Sanders
2. Ben & Jerry's
3. Phish
4. Bill McKibben
5. Bread & Puppet Theater

and, drumroll please...

6. Marijuana
Apparently, the the Dixie singin' Naylor, baas of SVR feels that Bread & Puppet event schedule and act don't meet his high standard of success. Never mind that he's never gotten a single secesher elected to office in any of their abysmal runs or that he was unsuccessful in getting even one of the "200 Towns in 2012" that his group promised to get to put articles for consideration on their Town Meeting warrants or, and you don't need to be a psychic to predict this one, that his plan to have Articles of Secession before the General Assembly by 2015 is, uh, on hold.

Nope, Peter Schumann, who founded and directed the successful Bread and Puppet over the past 50 years, and who has, even if reluctantly, stood by Naylor even as Naylor deepened his ties with racists, Holocaust deniers, homophobes, misogynists, anti-Semites and neo-Confederates, is one of the six sources of Naylor's problem in failing to sell more than 99% of Vermonters on his bigoted bullshit. It's not hard to figure out why; Naylor's sought to piggyback his lame secession movement on those whose efforts have been demonstrably more successful than he is ever likely to be.

And, as if he couldn't get any slimier, here's what a low-life Naylor can be; he waited until after Bread and Puppet had appeared as a part of his tiny turnout of around 50 (of which B&P accounted for about 20%) for his most recent Secesher Statehouse Stunt, where he and his cronies passed a manifesto that formalized his brand of racism in the Green Mountain state, to publish his attack on Bread and Puppet.

What. A. Duplicitous. Scumbag.

If I were Thomas Naylor, I wouldn't be expecting anyone in Vermont to be sharing a bong for the forseseeable future. As a friend who's read Naylor's latest dump said, "...we're all just a caricature, apparently, too stupid for our own good."

I'm thinking that it's true to the extent that it's really all just projection on Naylor's part. Maybe the shrink in his house can help him with that.

One Last Wipe...

The Secesher Statehouse Stunt that occurred last Friday proved that the Vermont secessionist movement is, for all intents and purposes, roadkill; as dead as their 2007 "200 Towns by 2012" campaign promise. Similarly, the seceshers have promoted a plan to have Articles of Secession before the Vermont legislature in 2015 - my prediction, don't hold your breath on that one either.

At their sideshow to memorialize their anti-Semitism there was no mention made that their previous 6 year quest to have a secession question on at least 200 Town Meeting warnings this past March had been an utter failure, as in not one town has had a secession question put before their voters. Did they try? That's impossible to determine since the link to their website setup in furtherance of that goal is now dead too.

In 2005 (and I'm reluctantly giving them this one for the moment) their first "convention" attracted 250 people that included secessionist proponents for racist and institutionally homophobic states. The 2012 secesher shindig attracted maybe 50 participants, of whom perhaps as many as half were from out of state. Today's present state of affairs was presciently foreseen in this early Seven Days article from 2007. Less than a month later a 40,000 copy distribution deal for the secesher publication Vermont Commons was cancelled by Seven Days.

Despite sending out press releases to everyone and their brother for this year's anger fest, the seceshers got zero coverage except from their own delusional websites like this one.

Photos published by one attendee confirm the low turnout. Here's the group photo that was scheduled for the end of the event:

There was one bit of news to report. Richard "Terry" Jeroloman, who's had an on again, off again relationship with the seceshers, and who is now a Progressive Party candidate for the Vermont Senate from Chittenden County, snagged a front row seat with perennial secesher losers, Matt Cropp and Peter Garritano. Since there are few Burlington votes to be found at a secesher shindig in Montpelier, one can conclude that wouldbe Senator Jeroloman's sympathies may lie with the seceshers. Perhaps he'll explain to his potential constituents why he felt compelled to attend a session intended to formalize the Second Vermont Republic's embrace of anti-Semitic bigotry.

Here's Jeroloman with Cropp and Garrtano (l-r front, Cropp, Garritano & Jeroloman):

The next few months promise to reveal more losses for the Vermont secesssion movement. You can check back here for updates.

The Party's Over

... and it's back to business.

Other than a couple of unhinged comments, one from an angry anti-Semitic, pro-segregation, Vermont Commons blogger and another from a willingly blind to racism high school student from Cavendish, VT, (I probably could say something snarky about this sort of "youth is the future" for the Vermont secession movement but, the fact is, it's just sad) the dust settled pretty fast after Friday's poorly attended Secesher Statehouse Stunt that was sponsored by the Second Vermont Republic, VTCommons and what remains of, as SVR co-founder Ian Baldwin has called them, the "small community" of the Vermont secession movement deadenders.

This morning the old inbox was bare of any local media coverage of the secesher stunt but what did show up was another reminder of the lack of criticism within the movement for two other SVR co-founders repeated appearances on the Internet hate radio program, The Political Cesspool.

Over the years SVR co-founders Thomas H. Naylor, a longtime friend of the racist League of the South, and Kirkpatrick Sale, a South Carolina delegate to the Southern National Congress which has strong ties and affiliations with the League, have made several appearances on James Edwards' racist, neo-Confederate, homophobic, anti-Semitic, Holocaust denying program that is also carried on Stormfront.org ("White Pride Worldwide"). Edwards was so impressed by Naylor that he even called him "obviously a good Confederate" during Naylor's interview for a Confederate History Month show that Naylor participated in knowing full well what the show was celebrating - Confederate History Month. Yet in the nearly five years since I revealed this connection of Naylor and Sale to the racist neo-Confederate community there hasn't been a peep of criticism from within the Vermont secesher community.

My inbox contained a story from Mother Jones about the controversy that's erupted over a Southern Republican congressman's single appearance on Edward's white nationalist hate radio show. So why is it then that when Rep. Walter Jones (R-NC) appears on the show it's a national issue, yet when Naylor and Sale do the same thing repeatedly there's no blowback from Vermont seceshers? We already know where Naylor and Sale's hearts lie, so this says a whole lot more about the entire Vermont secesher community's blind allegiance to these two boneheads. Read the entire Mother Jones piece here.

Vermont Seceshers Throw a Party to Promote Bigotry

When I first heard that the Second Vermont Republic and Vermont Commons honchos, the Dixie singin' Thomas Naylor, Rob Williams and anti-Vermont Army and Air National Guard doyenne Juliet Buck were throwing a party in the Vermont Statehouse, I wondered so how come they didn't invite me? I mean, Williams has been proposing late night trysts at various bars over the years and here's a chance for us to get it on really in public and I didn't make the list.

Perhaps the reason why is that they knew I wouldn't approve of their intent to formalize their bigotry in the seat of Vermont government, the General Assembly chamber of the Vermont Statehouse, let alone anywhere else.

For years the baas of SVR, Naylor, has promoted the lie that Jews control the U.S. government, "having a hammerlock hold over American foreign policy." You see, in Naylor's squirrelly view it's Jews that need a little push back, not the Holocaust denying scumbags that he's repeatedly agreed to be interviewed by like Victor Thorn, James Edwards and the talking heads at Iran's propaganda ministry.

But I'm getting ahead of myself here.

Naylor and three other tired old white guys got together and crafted a "Montpelier Manifesto" comprised primarily of Naylor's repetitive, cliché ridden, excessively anti-American crap. It's a lot of the same old same old that they've been unable to get traction on in Vermont since they began their campaign nearly 10 years ago. Naylor's lied repeatedly about the actual support in Vermont for his secession plan for years, first telling us that 8%, then 13% of Vermonters were buying into secesher nonsense - fact is, when Vermonters got a chance to vote on his handpicked, angry, "Israeli Mafia" hating surrogate for the governor's office, 99.24% of them voted for someone else.

Now Naylor and his "small community," as SVR co-founder Ian Baldwin calls them, of alienated clones intend to lead Vermonters into a mixed nut bag of Ron Paultardism, Jew hatred and a rainbow of conspiracies while being anti-virtually every Vermonter who isn't with them in their dogpatch of irrelevance called the "Montpelier Manifesto."

No, I'm not going to link to it but here's what these old farts, Thomas Naylor, Kirkpartrick Sale (a South Carolina delegate to the racist League of the South" front group, Southern National Congress, ), James Starkey and Charles Keil, have to say about "the Jews" within its "Document of Grievances and Abuses":
Foreign Policy
4. "The hammerlock hold of the Israeli Lobby over American foreign policy that forces us to support an Israeli-inspired war on terror against Muslims and keeps us from any real commitment to an Israeli-Palestinian peace process."
Sure, and playing footsie with outspoken racists like Edwards or Thorn will make you a player in the peace process, eh, Tommy Boy?

Although two thirds of Israelis oppose any attack on Iran, and tensions continue to rise between the U.S. government, and while Netanyahu's minority viewpoint continues to be marginalized, and while Americans are being murdered in the Middle East for no good reason, Naylor and his other old cranks (NB: two others unworthy of note have now signed on to the Manifesto, probably because they'd like their own failing secesher operations to get some recognition) continue to promote the (and I never use ALL CAPS) LIE that Jews control the U.S. government.

But, never to worry, tomorrow's KKKonference will approve the racist libel proposed by Naylor and the other old white men since, after all, Williams "agrees with Thomas" about the Jews and Buck is pissed at everybody.

In their press releases Williams and Buck have made a big deal out of holding their stunt in the Vermont Statehouse. Like them, Fred Phelp's gay hating Westboro Baptist Church or the reputed Vermont Ku Klux Klan would be as eligible to use the the General Assembly chamber. Yeah, the standards are that low.

Since they're having music at their anti-Vermonter klavern, here's mine:

Look for me there tomorrow. I may just "shed my skin."

Tomorrow's the Day

Radical America bashing will be the theme for the day, interspersed with outlandish claims that this group of angry outsiders, each of whom is more unaccomplished, inexperienced and incompetent at governing than the next, is the only collection of malcontents who can properly lead Vermonters into a secessionist future. Problem is, Vermonters aren't interested in going there, and especially not with these clowns.

Never mind that they've lied to Vermonters repeatedly about the real support for their group, which they've claimed to be as much as 18%, when in fact more than 99.24% of Vermonters voted for someone other than their angry, Che Guervara embracing, middle finger waving gubernatorial candidate, Connecticut native Dennis Steele. Never mind that during their 2010 campaign they hid from Vermonters some of their beliefs and intentions. For example, Senator Robert "Needed Killin' " Wagner would have Vermont join the South and the Mountain West in becoming a right to work state, thus undermining union effectiveness, and has said so on one of those out-of-state candidate's position sites that he so fond of. Wagner's ravings include this conspiratorial beaut:
"4. Do you know what Agenda 21/Sustainable Development and the Communitarian agenda is? Do you support it? Why or why not?"
"I consider it one of the gravest threats to our livelihoods and freedoms so far this Century, and I am fighting it tooth and nail in Vermont. There is a LOT of money flowing into tiny Vermont to support Agenda 21, going into ‘programs’ to catalog, file, stamp, assess and control Vermont’s agriculture…"

"The battle continues. That’s what I think of Agenda 21."
Wagner's friend, the virulent anti-Semite, Dennis Morrisseau, had this to say when he thought Vermonters wouldn't be gaining access to the super-secret secesher Free Vermont listserv where the seceshers chatted about their various power fantasies and conspiracy theories:
“(I)f we provoke the T(eacher)'s Unions too early in our campaign they will be a HUGE PAIN IN THE ASS.....AND A VERY BIG BLOCKING FORCE. This is one of the few places where i might want us to hold our punches until later...”

Free Vermont listserv, December 14, 2009
For those who don't know, this blog got started by exposing the Second Vermont Republic and its leadership's strong ties to the racist League of the South. As recently as last year the Vermont Commons publisher and former SVR co-chair, Rob Williams, contributed an essay to a book edited by a founder of the League of the South; SVR's founder, Thomas H. Naylor, made sounds of disapproval of the racism at LoS that had been apparent to everyone but him up to that point but he did not formally sever ties with LoS, even when LoS's president, Michael Hill, openly declared his and the League's blatant formalization of its racism this past spring. A presenter at tomorrow's sideshow will be Kirkpatrick Sale, a South Carolina delegate to the Southern National Congress, a group made up of many League of the South members like its vice-chairman, Louisiana LoS chairman Mark A. Thomey. Good to see that the racist elements from the South are to be so ably represented by Sale. It should dovetail nicely with the racist proposal that Sale, Naylor and two other old white guys will seek to have the Vermonters present at their dog and pony show formally adopt as an element of yet another of their incessant manifestos and/or declarations. More on that tomorrow.

Conspiracy Theories Will Abound at Secessionists Independence Party in Montpelier This Friday

For years the websites of Vermont secession types have been rife with a whole range of conspiracy theories, some better known than others.

One secesher blogger got his panties in a knot over the Burlington bike path because he saw a UN agency community sustainability, non-binding initiative, regarding the bike path program as the tip of the spear of a diabolical plan to takeover the U.S. or some other New World Order crap; the same blogger promoted sovereign citizens legal mumbo jumbo, but I believe that his Vermont Commons blog is now on extended hiatus. Go figure. A Vermont secesher Senate candidate, Senator Robert "Needed Killin'" Wagner, has written just this past spring about the discredited Teabagger inspired conspiracy theory,
"I have been tracking 800+ bills in the Vermont Legislature introduced or held over in the past year… most of them meddlesome, many of them written with Agenda 21 in mind."

Full post here.
Smart meters and vaccinces are all part and parcel of the vast U.N. Agenda 21 plot to control and even end our lives according to the conspiratoids.

A past Washington County secesher Senate candidate and announced presenter for the Vermont Secesher Independence Party, Gaelan Brown, who calls his VTCommons blog "The Energy Optimist" is a prime example of the nutbar, conspiracist thinking that abounds in the group, and, oh, he's hardly an optimist. Delusionist would be more accurate. This self proposed "Minister of Commerce and Energy" of the secesher republic predicted a 90% vote turnout for the secesher gubernatorial candidate, Connecticut native Dennis Steele, in the NEK. Hell, Steele only got 5 votes in the town where at the moment he resided, and garnered barely .76% statewide.

Even more bizarre, Brown, the "Energy Optimist" has said two years ago that,
"Personally I believe that it's likely that NASA has been collaborating with beings from other planets to mine the dark side of the moon in exchange for them giving us some of their technology."

"I've seen unexplainable UFOs several times and I know a man who works for Carlisle who says there is heavy investment going on re infrastructure to mine the moon for titanium, H3 (nuclear fuel), and other minerals that are rare on earth. I have also studied the chem.-trail and HARPP systems/history and there's a lot of sketchy activity in this category as well."

"But I'm not going to focus on these issues in my campaign. Vt independence is enough of a reach without pushing people on issues that they'll never grasp."
Sure, Gaelan, whatever.

And then there are the Jews. The Second Vermont Republic founder Thomas H. Naylor claims that they control the U.S. government and his toady, the editor of VTCommons Rob Williams says that he agrees with Naylor. The non-existent SVR's Very Foreign Minister, Dennis Morrisseau proposes creating a hit list for Jews. My question would be is the conspiracy junk and hit list creepiness about national Jews or Vermont Jews? Some clarity on that point might assist law enforcement threat focus. Maybe Rob & Thomas & Denny & whoever will clarify at their KKKonfab on Friday. I'll try to record their remarks to post here.

Of course, there's the 9/11 Truther nonsense promoted by Morrisseau, Williams and others in the nut bowl, running the range from a Jew conspiracy to take down the twin towers, to a U.S. government plot for same, all of which relies upon the work utterly discredited, (now what do they call themselves?) oh right, "scholars."

Followers of this blog may remember this vid but as we come upon the boatload of crazy that will surely occur on Friday, this is more than apt, after all, we must protect ourselves from the conspiracy to rob us of our precious bodily fluids.

Matt Cropp, Who is Perhaps the Second Vermont Republic's Most Incompetent Organizer...

... is to speak at the SVR third Secesher Statehouse Stunt this Friday in a group in which economic and political loser Gary Flomenhoft will also be speaking.

Figures.

Matt Cropp has established a reputation for failure and irrelevance that's hard to beat.

He's one of those campus radicals that makes your head hurt if you hear he's going to show up where you're headed.

He was one of the participants in the super secret, highly controversial 2009-2010 Free Vermont listserv. The searchable mirror may be found here.

Cropp was campaign manager for the profoundly unsuccessful (99.24% of Vermonters voted for someone else) Vermont secessionist gubernatorial candidate Dennis Steele. Under Cropp's management, the Steele campaign embraced imagery associated with the self-professed murderer Che Guervara. Despite promises from Steele and Cropp to remain involved with Vermonters in very specific ways, both disappeared faster than guys who weren't able to get laid on a date. Cropp set up a secesher website and did nothing discernible with it. Green Mount Militia commandante Steele's just plain gone.

Cropp was one of the founders of a new, secesher provisional capitol in Hancock, VT where he and a colleague spoke of modeling their effort after Hezbollah and the Muslim Brotherhood. Heard of that? Yeah, well no one else has either.

Last year Cropp ran for the Board of Directors of the City Market/Onion River Coop, another big loss for him there.

More tragically, Cropp was part of Second Vermont Republic's Thomas H. Naylor's embedded leadership in the Occupy Burlington group at Burlington City Hall Park. A day after the Occupy Burlington group notified the city in writing that it was intiating a program of care for Burlington's needy and homeless at the park, a homeless individual died in the park camp structure maintained by Occupy Burlington.

Then Cropp laid plans to takeover credit unions in Vermont and across the country. The short story is that he lost his bid for a Vermont Federal Employees Credit Union board seat (yeah, like the Onion River Coop) but, get this, Cropp had called his takeover group the “Vermont Federal Credit Union Members Assembly.” He'd obviously been seeking to piggyback on the VFECU's name but, incompetent as he is, forgot to do one thing - register the name. He probably would have lost a legal challenge to the name usage but, silly boy, didn't even register the tradename properly, which the VFECU promptly did in early July. Despite being notified to cease and desist use of the VFECU trademark, Cropp continued the tradename usage on a blog he maintains as recently as Aug. 27.

Perhaps Cropp's economic plans to be outlined at the Secesher Stathouse Stunt that they're calling the Vermont Independence Party will have less lethal results than his Burlington City Hall Parl escapade or be less incompetent than his political campaign and credit union takeover schemes - we'll see.

Vermont Secessionist Rocket Scientist and Constitutional Blowhard to be an Early Presenter at...

... the third Vermont Secesher Statehouse Stunt to be held in Montpelier on Friday that they're calling their Vermont Independence Party.

There comes a point where one has to ask, how long will these idiots keep banging their heads into the wall of a society that finds them and their screwy worldview to be unsuitable, unpalatable and ultimately unsustainable.

Being one of those at the tip of the spear of the Vermont secesher braintrust, Gary Flomenhoft intends to make another boneheaded recommendation about the Vermont economy.

In 2009, Flomenhoft cooked up a scheme with ten other seceshers to set the elected Vermont legislature and other statewide elected officials straight. You see, Flomenhoft and his crew thought that the elected officials needed a report detailing their unconstitutional behavior over the last 140 plus years. So how better for Flomenhoft and his merry band of governmental usurpers to do so than by illegally convening a legally disbanded governmental agency, the Vermont Council of Censors. The Council of Censors' duties are now primarily performed by the Vermont Supreme Court but the Flomenhoft gang figured fuck'em. They said they'd be issuing their "report" on the legislature sometime around the end of 2010. Like so much of what the seceshers have promised over the years we're still waiting. The seceshers chatted repeatedly about what they were going to do as the Vermont Council of Censors at their super-secret listserv - a searchable mirror of which can be found here.

Another scheme that Flomenhoft has come up with, along with some dipshit at the "Gund Institute" named Robert Costanza who moonlights in some fashion as a kind of Vermont Commons editorial board honcho, is more confiscatory economic grab bagging. Normally when these clowns sit around dreaming up the junk they think will con others into joining them, they invariably call their tiny group a "think tank" or, as in this case, an "institute." This "institute" came up with a plan best described as Stalinism light. Along with other seceshers who propose asset and income caps, the Gund guys want to lay claim to Vermonters private property, land, minerals, woodlots and natural resources, as well as the national airwaves (radio, TV and wireless) and the Internet. Now where have we heard this bullshit before? Well, at earlier secesher konfabs for starters and from economist contemporaries of Karl Marx like Henry George. The first attempt to implement George's economic crackpottery occured in the first decade of the 20th century in Great Britain and the result was an economic crisis - Georgism now, with a few minor limited exceptions like a township in Alabama that hasn't hit the cellar yet, is dead.

And, as if Flomenhoft isn't idiot enough on his own, he's advocated that others commit felonies by hacking websites like this and two others that I know of. At the moment, one European hacker/supporter of Vermont secession is paying repeated visits to this blog, but more on this next week after the "party" is over.

Nuts!

When most people (which means few people) think of Jim Hogue, they focus on his reenactor fetishism for Ethan Allen. I've seen his bit and, now this is just my personal opinion, the performance is fucking boring.
He plays to small venues that are often comprised of Vermont secessionist fellow travelers but he's really just the athlete's foot fungus of the secesher movement - a long term itch but not much more. This video is a good example; he gets a turnout of six people for a promoted event and complains about that fact but has no insight as to why. He's stunningly boring and Vermonters aren't interested in the secesher cause, yet he claims more than 111,000 Vermonters (18%) are supporters of secession (NB: When seceshers put forward a gubernatorial candidate in 2010, 99.24% of Vermonters voted for someone other than the secesher candidate). Of the six attendees, at least 3 of whom are recognized Second Vermont Republic principals, notably the baas of SVR, Thomas H. Naylor and his handpicked fall guy for the ill-fated 2010 Vermont gubernatorial run, Connecticut native Dennis Steele. If you start to fall asleep, scroll to the 2:58 minute mark to hear Hogue's complaint about attendance:

Ambassador, indeed. Expect more of the same when Hogue puts on his performance at the secesher "convention" next week.

Despite all his talk of peacefulness, Hogue has his dark side. He was one of the earliest members of the seceshers "super secret" Free Vermont listserv. He joined in many of the vengeance oriented conversations or received the communications without voicing objection to the excesses expressed, like one where the likelihood of holding a mass trial of Vermont's law enforcement community, particularly the Vermont State Police, for having collaborated with "the Empire." During these discussions he wrote:
"I propose that, if you are proposing something (and Madame Guillotine is fine with me) that you keep in mind that small is beautiful, and that these scum could not have done what they did if the states were sovereign, as they could not have raped and pillaged the US so successfully without the massive power to corrupt and be corrupted."
Jim Hogue, Free Vermont listserv, December 31, 2009
If you've any doubt though, it's clear that Hogue is no angel. He was one of the few Vermonters that I witnessed to be present at the notorious North-South Secession Summit where I "bumped into" the baas himself. The Southern Poverty Law Center covered the secesher summit here. In short, it was an occasion where Vermont seceshers and white supremacists associated with the League of the South rubbed shoulders. In fact, I sat adjacent to one Southern National Congress bigwig who spoke loudly in front of of the Capitol Plaza lobby fireplace about being in the frigid "Green Mountain capital."

But the point of this post isn't to re-till the soil of the murderous musings of the seceshers on their Free Vermont listserv or the Stalinism-light confiscatory economic proposals by several of the listserv participants (seizure of private property, income caps, asset caps, etc.) or of individual seceshers attempt to harm the personal livelihood of Vermonters that they despise. I just want to mention that Hogue will be a presenter at their upcoming convention next week. Perhaps he'll do something from his 2010 election year play "Mixed Nuts" that from what I can find was, like their electoral try out, a flop.

"Mixed Nuts" is a theatrical ripoff of the movie "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest" except that instead of a remarkable protagonist in the form of Jack Nicholson we get an uninspiring, semi-plagiaristic, dopey, incompetent attempt to make secession appealing. Thing is, as is so laughably apparent, you'd have to be nuts to buy into the secesher bull presented in Hogue's amateurish ploy, er, play.

My humble recommendation to Hogue is that he remember and have a modicum of respect for where he is next Friday, the Vermont Statehouse, and not indulge in quite so much cleavage as he did in the play. It doesn't work at his age and, really Jim, think of the children.

Sometimes I Wonder If Vermont Secessionists Truly Believe That Their Sleazy Hypocrisy Is Invisible to Vermonters

Last week the Vermont secessionist sponsors of yet another of their lame "conventions" blasted out press releases about the event.

The thing is being run by the usual host of secesher losers - Rob Williams, the sham radical and NIMBY queen Juliet Buck, as well as the baas of the Second Vermont Republic himself, the Dixie singin' Thomas H. Naylor - with the same ol' same ol' list of boneheads that have been the foundation of (as it's been called by a secesher founder, Ian Baldwin) their "small community" for years. What I found interesting is that they're going to propose to vote on institutionalizing Naylor's nasty, deluded, hateful, racist obsession - the Jewish control of American goverment - but more on that next week.

Two years ago the misogynist, anti-Semitic Vermont Senate then candidate from Rutland County, Dennis Morrisseau, a hateful proposer of hit lists of Jews to be eliminated and Rob Williams traded shots at VT Digger editor, Anne Galloway:
"Most reporters regurgitate press release as "fact," and call it objective journalism, friends."
"When they dare to have an opinion, they put it on the OP/ED pages."
"It ain't right, and we need to challenge it (as everything else...)"

Rob Williams, June 1, 2010
You can read the entire vile, hateful exchange here.

So here's where the hypocrisy comes in. Williams sent in a press release to Galloway's VT Digger in an effort to promote attendance to his sideshow. No, I'm not gonna provide a link since it would only serve to provide exposure to their umpteenth effort to hoodwink Vermonters.

But ya gotta wonder why someone like Williams, who so clearly despises Galloway for being what he called the "CIA spook that she is...", would so further debase his personal honor by submitting a press release to Galloway given his criticism of her handling of such releases. Maybe it's because he already sets his personal bar so low that he's unconcerned about the expressed and dog-whistle racism, the misogynist outbursts, homophobia or the blatant anti-Semitism of so many of his secesher associates and colleagues.

Yeah, that must be it.

Happy Anniversary Rob!!

Some guys just don't remember the important dates in a relationship, and the fact is that the importance of this date was all of Rob Williams' own doing.

For years I've been exposing the racist and anti-Semitic ties of Vermont's "small community" of secessionist whack jobs, much to Rob's chagrin. When the racist policies and predilections of Second Vermont Republic allies and board members from the League of the South first became a fact of common knowledge here, Rob threw a hissy fit over the disclosures but not over the LoS's overt racism. Like his SVR pal and co-honcho, Thomas H. Naylor, the ironfisted founder of SVR, Williams lashed out at critics and expelled them from SVR.

Williams even went so far as to say during those early days of 2007 in regards to one LoS founder, Donald Livingston, that:
"Is (Livingston) a racist? I don't know. And frankly, it is none of my damn business, at a personal level." [1]
Thus Williams initiated his "Don't Ask, Don't Care" policy pertaining to racism. Last year Rob even had an essay published in a secesher throwaway edited by Livingston, late of the LoS and now "scholar"-in-chief at the "old times there are not forgotten" Abbeville Institute (so named in honor of the plantation of slaveholder and defender of Southron slavery, John C. Calhoun) titled "Rethinking the American Union for the Twenty-First Century," a real page turner if you're partial to neo-Confederate crap.

Years before Rob began having trouble figuring out that palling around with racists might be a bad thing, if they were really racists, more than a few LoS bigwigs were clearly and proudly putting on display their racist thinking like this beaut:
“Somebody needs to say a good word for slavery. Where in the world are the Negroes better off today than in America?”
— Jack Kershaw, League of the South board member, 1998
But I'm not here to just kick sand in Rob's face, I'm here to celebrate the second anniversary of Rob's boast that he'd cleansed the web of his icritics while at the same time embracing the extreme anti-Semitism of his baas, Thomas H. Naylor, and Naylor's handpicked gubernatorial candidate, Connecticut native Dennis Steele:
"I realize that the Israel plank is near and dear to Thomas (Naylor) - and he'll no doubt mail me another pointed letter scrawled in green pen with more information about the US/Israel connection and tell me that, because I am raising questions here, he will decide to push the "Israeli Mafia" phrase even MORE."

"However, Thomas is not running for office. You are."

"And, the thing is - I agree with Thomas re: Israel."

"I just don't think it makes much sense to use "Israeli Mafia" as a "talking point" for a Vermont independence campaign."

"Why? Three reasons immediately come to mind:"
"#1 - Since most Americans have been conditioned by years of corporate media training to associate anti-Israeli sentiment with Anti Semitism,
talking about the Israeli Mafia smacks of antiSemitism blah blah, Holocaust, SVR are racists, etc ad nauseum.
I have spent 4 years defusing the SVR/LOS nonsense and it is finally done, even in the blogosphere. Why go there again?"
(So how's that working out for you, Rob?)
"#2 - MORE IMPORTANTLY, why not keep our eye on the ball - the United States?"
"#3 - Finally, the "Israeli Mafia" phrase sounds CANNED when it comes out of your mouth. EVERYTHING ELSE YOU SAY sounds like Dennis Steele talking, and kicking ass."
(NB: The only ass kicked in that 2010 campaign was Steele's own ass - more than 99% of Vermonters voted for someone else.)
I don't know if Rob has ADD but I was pretty definite in March of that year that I intended to watch the secesher campaign and review records. As a result I learned that the Steele campaign being sheparded by Rob and his bonehead buddies accepted multiple donations from a racist and homophobe (in fact, the guy was their largest out-of-state contributor) and that there existed an unhinged listserv where the seceshers prattled on about their fantasies under Rob's watchful eye. Even the out-of-state racist/homophobe had access to the highly restricted, super secret listserv. And somehow Rob's massive hubris caused him to think that my 5+ month silence meant something other than exactly what I'd said and that his pathetic bleatings over the years had been effective.

Anyway, Happy Anniversary Rob! Oh, and I'm looking forward to your little event in two weeks. You know, the one where you and your sham radical cohort intend to reset the secesher movement in Vermont.

Just remember that "I never can say goodbye, boy."
