Today In Vermont History
None of the eight Second Vermont Republic secesher candidates in the 2010 election were sworn into any office in the state of Vermont today.
Perhaps as a last puerile, frivolous act of contempt for the present
State of Vermont, secesher gubernatorial candidate, Dennis Steele, has filed a late final campaign finance report with the Vermont Secretary of State's Elections Division (to his first late filing), unlike as required by state statute (17 V.S.A. §2811(a)).
All in all, a pretty lame bunch.
2:15 PM: A real Vermont governor, Peter Shumlin, was sworn in.
