Public Banksters Part XVII - Hacking Karma?

After soliciting online for someone, anyone to criminally hack this blog this summer,
"Hackers wanted for troll expedition. Cash bounty for documentation. Secure contact only - send details. It's a race! fb.me/6SMCzpSrL
10:57pm - 29 Jul 14

And, shortly followed by...

"Hackers wanted for troll expedition. Cash reward paid for documentation. Secure contact only - send details. It's a …"lnkd.in/dvZReYA
11:02pm - 29 Jul 14
we learn that Gwen "The Hacker Baiter" Hallsmith's anti-capitalist website has been reduced to an error message.
VNE (Vermonters for a New Economy) Web Page Lost
"In addition to the tragedy that struck this summer, where our webmaster Gary Murphy died after an accident at his home, our web page has subsequently disappeared. Clicking on the url gets you to a lost page message - I have no idea why or where it went.

If there are web experts out there who can help solve the mystery of the missing web page, please let me know."

How's that for some karma, eh Gwen?

NO-O-O-O!!!

Things looked bad from the very first results that came in from Clackmannanshire
Yes 16,350 46.2%
No 19,036 53.8%
At 9:04 PM (Eastern Time) more badder news for the seceshers has come in from the Orkney Islands
Yes 4,883 32.8%
No 10,004 67.2%
9:43 PM Shetland Islands delivers another blow and completes the hat trick for the No vote to the Yesers
Yes 5,669 36.3%
No 9,951 63.7%
After 10:00 PM
Comhairle nan Eilean Siar drops another hit on the Yesers
Yes 9,195 46.6%
No 10,544 53.4%
Inverclyde
Yes 27,243 49.9%
No 27,329 50.1%
It's just past midnight and the trend is for "No." Aberdeen, a big one has just voted Yes but it may not be enough with so much of the country voting No.

BBC calls it for the No vote for independence and secession at 1:11 AM. Not even close - 55% No to 45% Yes. The Guardian gave the the final tally as No 55.3% to the Yeser's 44.7%. The Scottish Cupcake Poll had called this for the Nos hours before the voting had ended.

Too bad Vermont secession's own Grand Poobah, Rob Williams, didn't go to Edinburgh as he'd suggested that he so wanted to since he has vast experience in failure at secession and independence. He could have counseled the Yesers on what it's like to lose and lose and lose and lose. Looks like Robbie's plan to wear a kilt today and to go regimental on us is a bust.

Another day; another loss for the secessionists.

McSecession - National Journal Pairs Second Vermont Republic With the League of the South in Scottish Independence Article

Update At Bottom

With less than a week to go to the Scottish independence election, the usual spate of articles about nothing begin to appear. National Journal, a DC insider publication that like many others is straining for eyeballs on the web in a post print era has produced another in a series of articles that treat the tiny Vermont secession movement as a contender. The NJ highlights, as though they're relevant to the Scottish situation, three largely unsuccessful U.S. secesher outfits

I'll start with the second featured first: Cascadianow! From their About page,
"CascadiaNow! is working to become a grassroots, umbrella non-profit organization that provides resources and direct services to groups, projects, and community partners to raise awareness of Cascadia, celebrate our distinct regional identity and culture, and increase the independence of the Cascadia bioregion."
They've been on the web for 8 years and they're just now "working to become" a tax free 501c3 and nothing more than an "umbrella" thing. This is just the sort of e-group that secesher maven, Southern National Congress delegate and all around crank, Kirkpatrick Sale, has complained for years about, calling such groups little more than a website address. And the NJ writer Kaveh Waddell moused his way to their website and "interviewed" the leader of the group.

Third up for NJ's Waddell was the loudest, if not the largest secesher organization in the U.S., the notoriously ludicrous and hateful League of the South. Waddell's interview elicits the fact that the LoSers racist leader, Michael Hill, has virtually no insight into the Scottish independence effort and goal. Hill ignorantly states that a successful "Yes" vote for Scottish independence will be,
"a brick out of the wall of centralization and the old idea of empire-building"
News Flash!: A primary goal of the the Scottish independentistas would be accession (as opposed to secession) in 18 months to the European Union with its more than 200,000 pages of laws and regulations that make it arguably the most centralized union on the planet, as well as one of the largest economic empires to have ever existed. Hill must be smoking too much kudzu.

Nowhere in his fawning outline of the LoS's past and present does NJ's Waddell reveal that the collection of aging felons, Klansmen and racists is being replaced by a new generation of racists, Klansmen, neo-Nazis and potential felons. I say potential because they've formed a militia called "The Indomitables" who intend to target for guerrilla war type action journalists (pay attention Waddell), politicians and "elites." Waddell completely missed the racism and new radicalism that permeates today's LoS. As for Waddell's repeating LoS's claim "at one point recently to have 25,000 members," Waddell offers no explanation whatsoever as to why at repeated LoS demos over this past summer the average turnout was only 10 of the racists.

First up, though, was my favorite; an interview of the Second Vermont Republic's new baas and a member of Champlain College's adjunct staff, as well as a self-described historian, Rob Williams wherein Williams is positively wet-his-panties giddy over the upcoming Scottish independence vote and what he wrongly conjures it to mean to the essentially non-existent Vermont secesher movement. Williams unjustifiably effuses that,
"'I think the Scots have done a fantastic job of really making secession sexy,' Williams told (Waddell). 'If you look at the way the secession conversation has unfolded in the past several years, they've really tapped into what makes Scotland Scotland. That's something we've been trying to do in Vermont.' Williams thinks Vermont should follow suit, playing up the symbols, culture, and history that make the state unique."
Williams' muddled understanding of history causes him to conflate Scotland's centuries long struggle to re-assert independence from a United Kingdom created from the threat of force of arms with his boutique style secesher clown show. While there has always been a large segment of the Scottish body politic, including the present leader of the Scottish House of Parliament, supporting the independence line, under Williams' leadership the Vermont seceshers have disastrously fielded candidates that polled in the low or fractional digits of the electorate (99.24% of votes for governor in 2010 were for someone other than the secesher candidate).

Williams prattles on to misstate historical fact.
"The Vermont independence movement has already taken some of these lessons to heart. The movement has its own flag—borrowed from Ethan Allen's Green Mountain Boys militia—and a "reasonably robust network" of activists. What they're missing, Williams said, is the grassroots power of the Scottish campaign. "The Scots have proved that with a lot of time and effort and energy, you can build a political and economic conversation around independence," he said.

Williams said the success of the Scottish movement has had a positive effect on the Vermont independence movement, no matter the outcome of Scotland's referendum. Williams could hardly conceal his excitement for what's happening overseas. "If I didn't have to teach," he told me, "I'd be in Edinburgh right now!"
First off, Williams and his "reasonably robust network" of misfits, who now probably number somewhere under ten, stole the battle flag of the successors to the Green Mountain Boys, the Vermont Army & Air National Guard, and dishonor it by having done so. He also in saying that "the Scots have proved that with a lot of time and effort and energy, you can build a political and economic conversation around independence," leaves out the fact that there's is a valid, lawful claim made for hundreds of years, unlike the threadbare, historically perverted claim of the Vermont seceshers. The comparison of the two movements is typical of the hubris upon which Williams' leadership style is based, just like the spirit of sacrifice shown in his statement that if he didn't have to work he'd be right there with the Scots. What an empty, unself aware, blowhard Rob regularly shows himself to be.

As long as Williams' "activism" amounts to social media, a defunct hate blog, an occasional Statehouse stunt that can only attract 20 or so mostly out of staters and alliances with out of state hate groups like the League of the South, the Union is very, very secure.

What Waddell's article fails to disclose (beyond the seething anti-Semitism of the Vermont seceshers and the race hatred of the LoSers) is that most economists agree that Scottish independence will lead to a serious recession for Scotland that would probably extend to England itself, but that at least the "golfing in Scotland will be a lot cheaper.

UPDATE September 17: Days have passed since in his first post in months at his Second Vermont Republic website Williams sought to conflate some meaning for his dead movement from events in Scotland. An opportunity (again) was missed by Williams to renounce and denounce the racism and calls from violence now eminating from his allies at the League of the South in crowing about Waddell's throwaway e-piece about U.S. seceshers to put some or any distance between his group and the LoS; stupid is as stupid doesn't.

"The Cheese Stands Alone" Part IV - The League of the South Establishes A Militia Unit

At its annual meeting in June this year, Michael Hill, president of the League of the South announced the creation of a paramilitary group called "The Indomitables." No, really. The Southern Poverty Law Center has an exclusive report here.

On July 15 Hill posted on his blog an e-call to arms entitled "A Bazooka in Every Pot." Since then he's continued to ramp up the rhetoric that includes an outline of intended targets for his strike group,
"the primary targets will not be enemy soldiers; instead, they will be political leaders, members of the hostile media, cultural icons, bureaucrats, and other of the managerial elite..."
Michael Hill, League of the South führer and lunatic-in-chief
Hill has established a General Staff packed with KKKers, neo-Nazis and white supremacists. He's even created some Nazi style iconography for the outfit.

In a twelve point manifesto from his group, #1 is,
" The mantra “Violence [or the serious threat thereof] never settles anything” is patently false. History shows that it indeed does settle many things. Please don’t forget this—your enemy hasn’t."
My question to the new baas of the Second Vermont Republic, Rob Williams, remains when will he renounce and denounce his racist, neo-Nazi, KKKer allies at the League of the South" for the climate of hate and danger that they are creating in the nut bar pursuit of secession? Other than to take down a letter written by Thomas H. Naylor that once called for the League to renounce racism from his hate blog called Vermont Commons, Williams, a member of the adjunct faculty at Champlain College in Burlington, VT, has done nothing to put any distance between himself and the other conspiracy obsessed hate group, LoS.

"The Cheese Stands Alone" - Part IIIish

Thus far the Second Vermont Republic's legacy baas, Rob Williams, has remained silent regarding he and his group's continued unwillingness to denounce and renounce his longtime allies and friends at the KKK and neo-Nazi affiliated League of the South's. With yesterday's revelation that the League supports the discrimination of the past in hiring for good ol' young white guys - you know, the natural-borne "heads of households" and the real "breadwinners of the Southron nation - I renewed my call to Williams to once and for all call it quits with the LoSers.

Now, it seems, so has spe-lunk-ing.
UPDATED!!! September 3, 2014 5:50 pm Vermont Secession has updated the original post. I am going to join Vermont Secession in calling on Dr. Rob Williams to denounce the despicable and vile League of the South.
You'll note that spe-lunk-ing links directly to "Herr Doktor" Rob Williams Facebook page. Funny place, that. Up until two months ago you couldn't shut him up there on the subject of Vermont secession, except for when he was posting photos of himself, of trees and of mountains, all of which we could use so much more of in Vermont. Whassup with that? Is the Robster throwing in the secesher towel? Have his adjunct faculty gig and chaperoning responsibilities at Burlington's Champlain College become so demanding as to come at the sacrifice of his secesher leadership role? Time may tell.

In the meantime, Robbie, you really need to get out in front of this whole League of the South mess before it takes you down like it did the Dixie singin' and still dead Thomas Naylor.

UPDATE: "The Cheese Stands Alone"

At the same time that I put up the previous post, "The Cheese Stands Alone," which called on the new Second Vermont Republic baas, Rob Williams, to finally "renounce and denounce" the racist League of the South, the LoSers were posting their own bigoted Labor Day message at their hate website titled, "A Labor Day Message: Support Young White Southern Workingmen." Truly an amazing message that embraces ageism, racism, regionalism and sexism all in one header. Despite the known disparity in employment opportunity based on one's race, age or gender in this country, LoS lunatic-in-chief Michael Hill finds a rationale to place the white thumb just a bit more on the employment scale in his rambling Labor Day message.

Naturally, this bigoted LoS missive is one that Williams can continue to support since his reply to my call has produced crickets from him but not so on the web. Despite Williams' now four year old boast that he had,
"spent 4 years defusing the SVR/LOS nonsense and it is finally done, even in the blogosphere."
anti-racist websites like Spe-lunk-ing and The Liberty Lamp have rebloggged the call to Williams here and here. Way to "defuse" there, Robster.

So let me add to my call that you now renounce and denounce the most recent ageist, racist, regionalist and sexist screed of crap from your friends at the League of the South, Robbie.

"The Cheese Stands Alone"

Some say that over the years I've been a tad tough on the publisher of the Vermont secessionist's hate blog, Rob Williams or as I came to call him because he so richly deserved to be, Rob "Baghdad Rob" Williams, that's gone by a few names - Vermont Commons; 2VR; or now a supposed E-Zine, also called 2VR, which is nothing more than a pretentious descriptor of the scattered remains of a barely publishing (last post was two months ago) hate blog . But that's always been the right thing to do.

Rob and the Vermont secessionist movement's strategy has always been to step through the side door of Vermont politics, whether by the founder, Thomas H. Naylor's far-fetched schemes to 1) draft then U.S. Representative Bernie Sanders as the secesh gubernatorial candidate: or 2) when that failed, Naylor's handpicked choice for Vermont guv was a marionette Connecticut native by the name of Dennis Steele who's qualifications seem to come down to that he and Naylor's shared an equal distaste for the Jews and his resemblance to the Brawny Towel Guy (Steele managed to garner a fraction of one percent of the vote, or as he liked to call it, third.); or 3) the wildly unlikely plot to get every Vermont town meeting in the mid-teens of the 21st century to have a secession article on their warrants and for the Vermont legislature to vote by a two-thirds margin for articles of secession to be submitted to the Feds. At one of Naylor's meaningless scheduling of a "meeting" in the Vermont Statehouse General Assembly chambers (a venue available to all Vermonters, not just the seceshers), Steele attended as el commandante of the Green Mountain Brigade who then later morphed himself into the Vermont seceshers "peace" candidate. Steele's Green Mountain Brigade (a "brigade" of one?) argued that Vermont's constitution required that all "freemen" own a weapon and were subject to service requirements of the State militia. As a "peace" candidate, Steele eventually took down his website but photos (and screencaps) still remain of his standing at a Green Mountain Brigade identified lectern; an image of the "peaceful" Che Guevara adorned the Steele campaign website and literature throughout his campaign; a link to his copyright challenged web radio station still remains at the pseudo-sovereign citizen website for Rogers' Rangers Twin State Militia.

As I've noted in several earlier posts, all the political wannabes of the Vermont seceshers have pretty much given up on the entering Vermont's body politic via the side door - Gaelan "There's a NASA & Aliens Conspiracy to Extract Minerals From the Dark Side of the Moon" Brown, Jim "Revolutionary Era Cross-Dresser" Hogue, Gus Jaccaci, Terry Jeroloman, James Merriman, Dennis "Hit List" Morrisseau, and would be "Senator" Robert "Needed Killin' " Wagner, to name much of the crew.

The new thrust of the remaining tiny group is primarily that in order to start the ball rolling for secession Vermont must first establish a public bank, so as to begin extracting itself from the larger Federal economy. This effort is being led by Hogue and the creator of a seditious plot to usurp the authority of the Supreme Court by secretly "re-constituting" the Vermont Council of Censors whose membership would be limited to committed seceshers, Gary "The Rocket Scientist" Flomenhoft. A new ally in the effort, although not completely convinced that secession is attainable is, Gwen "The Hacker Baiter" Hallsmith, whose other e-paper hat is as "Executive Director" of the California based Public Banking Institute. This group calls itself Vermonters for a New Economy and their primary function is to lobby the Vermont legislature with methodologically challenged "studies" that garble the true facts.

What remains as unfinished business is why I write today.

Eight years ago the dead founder of the equally dead secesher movement, Second Vermont Republic, the Dixie singin' Thomas H. Naylor and his Renfield-like then co-chairman, Rob Williams convened a convention in Burlington, VT to which they invited various racists and homophobes like the Hawaiian Independence Movement, the Alaska Independence Party, Exodus and, perhaps most notably, the openly racist League of the South. Laughably, Williams sat next to LoSer convicted felon and Board member Franklin Sanders and they agreed that "Secession is not a racist plot."

A few years later when the stink of LoSer racism became so overpowering that it resulted in a piece written by the Southern Poverty Law Center ( based largely on material developed on this and two other Vermont blogs), Naylor wrote a disingenuous plea for the LoS to renounce racism. The SPLC wrote about that here
"So long as the albatross of racism hangs around its neck, the LOS can never be a truly effective partner for SVR," Naylor wrote in July. He also suggested that the league renounce racism, recruit black members, bring in black speakers and promote Southern racial unity. "The Confederate flag," he added, "has got to go!"
but apparently Naylor and Rob had second thoughts, so they disappeared the letter from their websites. Portions of the letter can still be found at the crypto-Fascist website run by Keith Preston called AttackTheSystem here. And, as if to underscore their change of heart, Naylor, Williams and their flack, Christopher Ketcham, attended a conference sponsored by an LoS founder, Donald Livingston. The racist bonafides of the all white session can be found in the fact that it was held at Livingston's conference venue, his own "Abbeville Institute," is so named for the plantation of slaver champion John Calhoun who once lectured Congress about the good things of slavery.

When I challenged Williams about his support of the racist founder of the League of the South, Williams responded cavalierly,
""Is (Livingston) a racist? I don't know. And frankly, it is none of my damn business, at a personal level."
SOURCE (don't bother, Williams has killed the link)
Gary "The Rocket Scientist" Flomenhoft has whined in a frothingly long-winded comment on their hate blog,
"Rob Williams made one thoughtless comment and you have crucified him for the next three years."
Actually, it's been seven years but who's counting? In fact, today is the fourth anniversary of this profoundly dumb boast on his supposedly "top secret" Free Vermont listserv that reeks of hubris,
"Since most Americans have been conditioned by years of corporate media training to associate anti-Israeli sentiment with Anti Semitism, talking about the Israeli Mafia smacks of antiSemitism blah blah. Holocaust, SVR are racists, etc ad nauseum. I have spent 4 years defusing the SVR/LOS nonsense and it is finally done, even in the blogosphere. Why go there again?"
Happy anniversary, Rob!

Yet, despite the Vermont seceshers own inability to get notice or traction for the fantasy of an independent Vermont, secession has been much in the news of late, although you wouldn't know it if you've been reading Rob's hate blog for the past few months.

Rather than abide or observe Naylor's admonitions six years ago that "the league renounce racism, recruit black members, bring in black speakers and promote Southern racial unity. "The Confederate flag,"... has got to go," the League of the South's racism is now front and center, no black members have been recruited (imagine that), no black speakers, and, by choice, attacks on diversity, rather than promotions of unity, are the theme of the present LoS plan. The LoS did take up Naylor on the flag thing and has a new one reminiscent of the Confederate battle flag except that that they've adopted a more Al Qaeda/ISIL-like black and white color scheme. Along with the new flag is a new, more blatantly aggressive and, yes, terroristic tone. The LoS now "openly fantasizes" about waging war against the Feds and the media,
"In 4Gen Warfare the lines between the military and the political, economic, cultural, and social are blurred past the point of recognition. To oversimplify, the primary targets will not be enemy soldiers; instead, they will be political leaders, members of the hostile media, cultural icons, bureaucrats, and other of the managerial elite without whom the engines of tyranny don’t run."
SOURCE - "LoS - A Bazooka In Every Pot"
You can read much, much more on this coming insurrection in the Salon piece here.

The time is long past due for Rob Williams, one of the last remaining figures of authority in the Vermont secesher movement, to set aside, if only for a moment, his improbable and contrived scheme for an "emerging" Vermont "independence movement" and to address the truly crazy turn of events at the League of the South. This seven year slow dance with felons and racists and neo-Nazis must come to an end. Williams has no choice but to join the swelling ranks of Americans who renounce and denounce the League's call to arms and assassination or he will forever be associated with the scum that once sat so proudly on his advisory board.

It's time, Rob. Put up or shut up. It's the right thing to do.

UPDATE 4:00 PM: Spe-lunk-er has a pretty good example of the new, neo-Nazi Hitler LoSer Youth types that now typify the recruit demographic of the present day League of the South here.
